What "well regulated" means in the 2nd Amendment

The Vegas shooter wasn't firing off a tripod. In the video you can see his muzzle flash outside the window. Using a tripod, his muzzle would have extended past the window frame.

in all fairness-that depends where his tripod was but the based on the angle, you are most likely correct.

That's not the point. Are you denying that the assault weapons ban included semiautomatic assault rifles?

There's no such thing as a semi-automatic assault rifle.

What definition are you going by?

The "Assault Rifle Ban" included such semiautomatics.

that's because the dishonest scum who wrote the law are liars and scum

Hmmm, interesting distinction. So what do you make of this?

assault weapon is a dishonest term used mainly by anti gunners to describe semi auto only firearms. Military assault requires fully automatic weapons. It is akin to saying this

all steak has to be made of animal meat

this is a vegetarian steak

Exactly! Ergo, a semi-automatic rifle isn't an assault rifle.

bannerrhoids figure that slow witted voters would think of CRIMINAL assault when the bannerrhoids applied that term to semi autos that are not useful for MILITARY ASSAULT

Bush didnt permanently ban anything. No president has that kind of authority. What he did was passed an Executive Order that expired, and the EO didnt ban ARs...it placed import restrictions on foreign owned and manufactured non sporting rifles while still allowing for the domestic manufacture and sale of ARs as well as the manufacture and importation of weapons from American businesses in foreign locations. American manufacturers stepped up production and companies like Atlantic and Primary Arms entered into manufacturing agreements with those same foreign plants and kept on producing firearms for importation and sale. Ironically, groups like Zastaza and others became US based/partnered companies and increased sales. (I have one of their M92s...its a good firing weapon...very reliable..brings the AK frame and reliability to the .223 platform).

No. Just assault rifle

I'll answer for him, no it isn't.

According to gun ban bills that rifle is illegal because it has a barrel shroud, bayonet lug and can be used with a grenade launcher.

So that picture I posted is wrong...a bump stock equipped rifle cannot be mounted on a tripod, to the best of your knowledge ?

It can be mounted, but it'll make the bumpstock useless.

It's an assault rifle

one of the most gaping assholes in the bannerrhoid movement is VPC butt boy Tom Diaz. he tried floating "sniper rifle" bans about 15 years ago after the VPC had pushed the assault weapon nonsense. It didn't go very far since even some "assault weapon" haters realized what would be the fall out if they supported banning common hunting rifles
