So people who are out of work should not be allowed to call the police if someone is assaulting them? Or shouldn't be allowed to use public roads?

People out of work should be assigned community service at the least. Something to keep them busy. And if they are driving their cars on public roads they are most likely putting gas in the car, which is heavily taxed, thereby helping to pay for road construction and maintenance. See, problem solved. Got any other snarky comments? My rebuttals are free of charge. Much like the social safety net handouts you favor.

Inherently, the price of personal freedom is the price of personal responsibility. Eliminate personal responsibility turning it over to the government and to the exact same degree it will eliminate each our own personal freedom.

What about police? Should those out of work be banned from dialing 911? You didn't rebut that at all.

Very few people living on welfare couldn't do some work, even if at home or on the telephone. Actually, many, many people living on welfare also do work either of-the-clock for cash or some small cash business - legal or illegal.

The police should be required to treat everyone equally.

A person now can't used many public roads without money, ie toll roads. Figure 3 times the driving time from the Northern border of Florida to the Florida Keys without at least $25 for tolls. There is a rather large city on a island just off the Gulf Coast accessible only by one large bridge. $4 to drive into the city. $0 to drive out. Don't have $4? You have to find a place to legally park for free (good luck with that) and then you have a very (very) long walk to get to the downtown of that city.

Not every city wants homeless people and derelict bums. Only Democrat run cities do.

You can't make an alcoholic, drug addict bum into a good person or a responsible person.

I'm not without compassion. It would support establishing a homeless sector, seriously fenced with only one entrance and exit except for emergency vehicles. All daytime hours a person could eat as many bowls of gruel with sufficient nutritional value the person actually did eat. A large covered area, concrete so it is dry, with bolted down picnic tables, to get out of the rain. Bolted down synthetic straps cots on steel frames. Unlimited water to drink. Toilets and showers. Trash pick up service. In old weather, tarps to cover the sides and temporary heaters put in. Hand out 2nd hand donated blankets. Anyone who needs to go to the hospital is taken there. The police can come and go anywhere and everywhere there.
Privacy tents for families. School buses to take the kids to and from school, where their meals are free as are all school supplies. The school could even help out with some clothes for the kids from Goodwill.
There would be donation boxes for stuff, food and cash at the entrance for those who care to contribute as a matter of charity. Anyone who wanted to volunteer to work there could provided the person is not on any sex list and is a citizen. This would only be for citizens.
A jobs bulletin board. A covered place where people wanting to work could stand hoping someone might come hire them for some job.

There is my welfare system.

Of course, if there was going to be a government homeless mass shelter like that, a wise investor would quickly buy the closest possible lot to the gate and open a liquor store. :lamo

They could come over to my house, and since I work, I could call the police for them. easy peasy. Problem solved. Got any more crazy questions. I'm open for business. But pretty soon I may start charging for these answers. I know paying for free things goes against your grain, but my time, since I work, unlike your time, since you don't work, my time is worth something.

I think the work requirement is important. Kids need to see their parents being responsible. Work gives life purpose and teaches responsibility. Kids need to see at least one parent going to work. Generational welfare is the result of free handouts with no personal responsibility. There was a good reason for all those government work programs in the 1930's. A man felt like a man when he earned a living for his family. Basic human nature doesn't change. Work is still empowering, even if it's a crappy job.

While Democrats support social benefits to those in need, conservatives are absolutely obsessed with directing huge monetary benefits to their favored constituencies — namely, the rich.

wrong-we don't support the government having the power to take from those who earn or create wealth and give it to those who often refuse to work, in order to buy their votes

I believe it was a paycheck she promised for everyone, even if they didn't work.
~ That's Andrew Yang's campaign "promise". AOC promised us the 'Green New Deal'. She said : "I'm the boss! How about that?"
Contributing your fair share to help the homeless and downtrodden become productive members of society does protect you and your family. Especially if, god forbid, you ever find yourself homeless and downtrodden.
~ Government has done such a stellar job of that the last 40 years. Remember Lyndon Johnson's war on poverty ...?

we seem to be moving toward serfdom. Following the European model. Europe is still a feudal system. Serfs are generally taken care of by the Lord of the Manor, and work in virtual slavery in exchange. Only, now, the government has replaced the Lord of the Manor. Government controls speech, land and regulates most every aspect of life. Not even self defense is seen as a right. Today too many Americans are content to stay on the Democrat plantation, with the security blanket of government to take care of their every need. They are willing to give up every shred of personal freedom and human dignity for this security. I know, Capitalism is scary; it demands a lot from a person. There are no guarantees, and lots of risks. However, it has proven to be the best system for bringing the most people out of poverty. The alternative, being dependent on government, turns you into a slave. A field hand to do what you're told. I could never live like that; being dependent on government for my very existence, for meeting my every need. I would work ten crappy jobs to keep off the welfare rolls.

Also in the Green New Deal "Economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work."

As the Democrats now engage in picking between candidates who promise the most free stuff - meaning forcing other people work for them - what do you claim a person can demand other people buy for them?

MULTIPLE CHOICE POLL - check everything that you claim other people can demand you buy for them.

Trump took all the air out of the room with the success of his policies. Now all democrats are left with besides their hate Trump venom is the old standby democrat campaign gimmick of lyingly promising free stuff to poor people to lure them into stupidly voting for them.

I agree. Yet then you say that equality is not deserved in other contexts when people are out of work. Your views are inconsistent.

The vast majority of public roads are not toll roads.

What if neighbors aren't home? What if by the time they get inside a neighbors house it is too late? Saying that those out of work should not be allowed to dial 911 is absurd.

Why does the GOP obsess over what someone else is receiving. The majority of Rump supporters don't make enough to pay taxes, yet pretend they are paying for someone elses Food Stamps. You look at some of those broke ass counties in WV and KY that went big time for Trump. These same folks were complaining how they were going to loose there health care if the ACA was repealed. What a bunch of un informed voters, just the type the Right loves.

No one should get free anything medical should be universal and payed into like England does with taxes.. School and college should be free too if possible that way people can learn something and start to work... by the way you are better of with the dems anyday than with trump he does not give a s--t about the poor or working person just himself he was about to let the miltary and coast guard not get payed to get a political point across to the dems daaaaa

everytime trump goes to mara lago in airforce one it cost 600,000 that can be 5 or 6 times a month should we pay for that!!!!!

Name one Democrat that has proposed that anything be free.

You're joking, right?

Most notably the front-runner:

"We need a movement that says in a highly competitive global economy all of our kids who have the ability, the qualifications and the desire, will be able to get a college education regardless of income because we will make public colleges and universities tuition free."

Publically funded is not free. You people claim these policies are giving stuff away for free then in the same argument complain that it costs too much. Which is it?

It's free to the 44.4% of the population that don't pay any federal income tax.
