We live in a society of interdependent human beings. The problems faced by the least of us are all of our problems. If you want to live in our society, you have to contribute your fair share like the rest of us.

No I don't.

It's not robbery. You don't have to live here. No one is stopping you from taking your wealth and your family and going where you can live the life of a heartless, selfish miser away from everyone else. What you want is to benefit from the advantages of living in a society while doing nothing to contribute to its health and growth. You would be the entitled thief in this scenario.

No one is stopping you from moving to a communist country, either.

I'm not the one complaining about paying my taxes.

I picked four essential ones that I only think should be provided to those that have it very rough and even then, on a limited basis. They need to be looking for work or helping the community somehow.

That isn't a contribution. That's legal confiscation.

It is a mandatory contribution to a common fund. People who don't like it can work elsewhere.

None of your business.

I bet you didn't have a tax bill. Hence, you don't pay taxes.

It's easy not to complain about taxes, when you don't pay taxes.

I've paid every penny of my income and property taxes my entire life. What about you?

Ummm...I believe it was the right who freaked out when AOC promised a job for everyone even if they didn't want one.

Dont forget a UBI "For those unable or *here is the important part* unwilling to work.

Actually the Democratic Party is far worse than the most radical classic socialists. Socialists required everyone equally work - and then equally share in the benefits regardless of the person's status or rank. Thus a manager makes the same as someone on the assembly line.

The Democratic Party, instead, promises everything for free, no one required to work, and then will pay for it all by borrowing endlessly more money from other countries figuring they can do that and pay the compounding interest on the money forever.

The Democratic Party believes the rest of the world will fully finance Americans sitting on their ass furiously demanding still more for free - because they believe they as Americans were born entitled to everything and to make everyone else their slaves.

Still furious over taking away their slaves, the Democratic Party has it's new way to make everyone working person their slave. The Democratic Party will never, ever abandon slavery.

Right, saw it in their platform.

Piss poor argument. Given that taxes are automatically pulled from paychecks and other large income sources (e.g. lottery winning over a certain amount) then breaking even or even getting a refund, one is still paying taxes. The poor, on the other hand, looking at income tax in isolation since you mentioned a refund, in any cases, not only get all they paid in back but can also get beyond that with things like EIC. So who is it that isn't paying taxes?

People who get refunds aren't paying taxes. People who break even, using breaks, credits and deductions aren't paying taxes, either.

Really? Well my son is about to start college next fall, so how about you send me a check. After all, Im entitled.

You should have to pay for someone else's kid to go to college too according to the Democratic Party.

You, like many other Democrats, confirm what I often post - the hatred Democrats truly have of working people. You are 100% wrong. Working people contribution to our society's health and growth. But in the opinion of the Democratic Party only 2 groups of people matter: The corporate super rich of the world and on the other end they support and promote being a lazyass bum. The EVIL people to the Democratic Party are people who work for a living to provide for their family and themselves - and in that struggle do not approve of having to work extra hours every week to pay for the booze and drugs of the bum standing on the corner panhandling.

Anything they would be forced to steal for their own survival if they couldn't obtain it via legitimate means and any basic investment that they would need to make them more productive in the long run.

The saying goes that it takes money to make money. If you are living in abject poverty then you lack the capital necessary to invest in yourself and make yourself more productive. Even if your situation is somewhat the result of your own choices, there is no benefit to society in leaving anyone in desperation. Desperate people resort to desperate measures.

I suggest you educate yourself on the concept of a Nash Equilibrium. It is a fundamental concept in economics. It's sort of like an economic version of a Catch-22, and often times once people find themselves stuck in a bad equilibrium it can be ridiculously difficult to get out now matter how good of choices you make. It is in the best interest of any society to keep people from falling into them and to help those that have get out.

But, of course we all know that you have no interest whatsoever in the free education we're offering you here today. Even though it would be in the best interest of society as a whole to learn something new we all know you'd much rather remain ignorant and hateful so instead I'll ask you this...

I notice that you left Security off the list. Why? Why can I be forced to pay for someone else's security? I would love to see fewer police on the streets and a much smaller military yet I have to watch my hard earned money taken out of my paycheck every week so that rich assholes never have to worry about coming home to a group of homeless people taking over their home by force.

Your post is intriguing. Considering the Nash equilibrium: what other than taxing others to throw money at a problem, can be done to fix it. As I recall, thee is no solution offered.
Regards,
CP
