Washington Mourned John McCain. President Trump Played Golf.

You're right. Just when we think trump can't stoop any lower and further tarnish the office of the president he does!

Nice defelection. :lamo

The stupidity of the Left will never cease to be unsurprising.

Barack Obama delivering a eulogy at the John McCain funeral service in the National Cathedral.

Unworthy. Unwanted. Uninvited.

McCain's daughter was so overcome with grief she found herself turning a eulogy to her father into political theater.

I bet you STILL wonder how he got elected. :lamo

Just enough people like you voted for him and tipped the electoral college his way. Most people are good and rational and therefore several million more voted for his opponent.

I'm still sorry that the funeral was politicized. I guess the answer to "Is nothing sacred these days?!" is "No."

You basically have the Trump devotees and then the rest of the nation. I never understood the need to slander someone over a political difference, especially in death.

Trump is a fighter, of the never surrender style. McCain, not the War Hero McCain but the establishment, enemy of the American people, Mc Cain belittled (similar to the fat ladys deplorables comment) the crowd at a Trump event, called them "crazies", remember? A real fighter hits back...twice as hard.

The comment in some context:

Yano?

Whats the establishment that runs both parties have to do with political affliation or ideology? They are simply corporatists not out promoting the Constitution, nor the entire country nor regular Americans.

Surely you know that.

All I know is I don't take kindly to someone who dissed our POW's.

Who is do the slandering in death? It sure as heck isn't Trump.

And you went online and bitched and moaned about Trump.

Yes, it would have been much more appropriate for Trump to have spent his Saturday wallowing in self pity over not being invited to the funeral of the Senator who hated him.

The nauseous part of all this is that people who are whining about Trump playing golf instead of wallowing over not being invited, all secretly have no use for John McCain. I bet these are the same people who called him an old white racist, when he was running against their messiah. Now the hypocrites are mourning McCain's death just because he, like them, are haters of President Trump.

I said the same on poster calamity's thread that dealt with Meghan McCain's eulogy but I used less eloquent words than you did. You are so right to ask the rhetorical, is nothing sacred these days? .. I still can't get over the responses I received for simply saying politics do not belong at funerals. How dare I think out of the box...

ETA:
When I think more on this... John McCain politicized his own impending funeral when he decided to make a public announcement disinviting the sitting president of the United States. He politicized his own funeral because he decided to go public with it and set the tone for comments made by his daughter and a former president today.
IMO, it made McCain, his daughter and a former president of our country look so petty.

Well said Trix.

That pretty well sums it up.

The irony in all of this is as the story unfolds we learn all this week of pomp and circumstance in McCain's funeral was planned by McCain down to the details. But the truth be known what McCain planned in Washington would not have come about without President Trump approving things. It was Gen. Kelly that Trump ordered to call the McCain family and offer them anything they needed upon the announcement of McCain's passing

Trump approved of the use of Air Force 2 to transport McCain's body and his entire family to Washington,

Once in Washington, Trump approved the military to provide ceremonial transfer of McCain's body from plane to hearse or from hearse to a building.

Trump had a say in McCain laying in state at the Rotunda. Something only 30 persons before McCain were given such an honor since the founding of our country. But it was all part of John McCain's personal funeral plans and it was granted.

The use of the National Cathedral the president has great influence in who can use it for memorial services. The McCain family had no problem insuring the National Cathedral would be available.

It was Trump that signed off on the use of the military in today's service at the National Cathedral in regard to the military orchestra and choir requested by McCain.

You know I was under the impression that after the service at the National Cathedral that they were on their way to internment where it is suppose to be a private ceremony. A lefty in another thread mocked me for not knowing that McCain himself in his planning of his funeral stretched out one more day for his internment where he will receive a full military internment as well as being sent to his chosen destination to his internment, his coffin will be carried to such place by wagon drawn by horses. That too is compliments of Trump approval.

So you see if it wasn't for Trump, McCain and his family would not have been able to fulfill McCain's wishes in planning his own funeral.

I had no idea all of the above occurred. Trump and his admin. put tons of effort into making sure a vindictive McCain's last wishes were granted and he still gets no credit for anything. Makes me extremely sad, really.

ETA: Trump took no accolades, and IMO, he is the better man for having turned the cheek.

Are you serious? It would have been political suicide (not that he probably hasnt done that already) if Trump refused any of the above.

If McCain doesn't want a person that is the exact opposite of everything he stands for at the funeral it is not politicizing to tell your family that. Trump is literally garbage, as far as humans go. Of course a man of character is not going to want him near his funeral.

Link to the public announcement of dis-inviting?

Can you show me the link that shows Trump was involved in any of that please. McCain has some connections to I would think.

McCain went public on his death bed, and politicized his own funeral. He did the exact opposite of what he says he's about; reaching across the aisle in a non-partisan way to unite the country.

Asking your family to not invite someone you don't want at your funeral is perfectly fine. If it gets out he's not going to be invited it's not you politicizing.

Just link me the announcement made by McCain saying he can't come. Otherwise it's just Trump snowflakes crying.

All I know is I don't take kindly to someone who dissed our POW's.

But you are A-OK if a former hero POW, now transformed into a common political hack, blanketly disses 15,000 other American citizens as"crazies"? What if one or more of those 15K were a former POW? Or War Heroes in some other fashion? Or simply American patriots?

Sounds a bit prejudiced, one sided and tone-deaf. Surely not a very balanced, rational sentiment.

Again...yano?

Who is do the slandering in death? It sure as heck isn't Trump.

Call it what you want, Trump continued his vendetta against McCain even after his death. Trump has such a thin skinned bruised ego, even death wouldn't sooth it.

Washington and the MSM "mourned" McCain, DJT played golf, and I took a swim at the beach.
