Washington Mourned John McCain. President Trump Played Golf.

McCain went public on his death bed, and politicized his own funeral. He did the exact opposite of what he says he's about; reaching across the aisle in a non-partisan way to unite the country.

That's a good point. McCain dis-invited Trump from his funeral before he died, and all because Trump disrespected him during a primary battle. Surely McCain has gotten plenty of insults in the course of election campaigns without taking the grudge to his grave. His response to Trump was odd.

Can you show me the link that shows Trump was involved in any of that please. McCain has some connections to I would think.

It was Lindsey Graham in an interview with NBC that said as soon as it was reported that McCain had passed President Trump asked his chief of staff Gen. Kelly to contact the McCain family and provide them with whatever they need.

Trump released a statement on Monday indicating that he had directed Kelly, Secretary James Mattis, and Ambassador John Bolton to represent the administration at McCain’s services.
He also responded to a family request for military transportation of the late Senator’s remains, military pallbearers, band support, and a horse and caisson transport.
Whatever they need.

No, his response wasn't really that odd at all. The President was so out of line.

What is odd, is that Donald Trump was still elected President of the Unites States after his disgraceful comments directed at an American Hero who spent years in a POW Camp. He showed complete and utter disrespect for service to the Country.

That should've been the deal breaker for those who were considering voting for him.

Terrible.

He did.

He just did it at the golf course.

He always wins there.

Golf is a game of honour, so expectedly:

President Trump 'cheats like hell' on golf course, according to LPGA legend Suzann Pettersen
LPGA legend Suzann Pettersen is fond of the sitting U.S. president. But she’s not so sure about his handicap.
...
“He cheats like hell,” the 15-time LPGA Tour winner said. “So I don’t quite know how he is in business. They say that if you cheat at golf, you cheat at business.” Pettersen also said the president must pay his caddies well, as drives that are headed for the woods always ends up back in the fairway. She also mentioned his fondness for gimmes.

I bet the caddies have to sign NDAs. ;)

Terrible.

As would bragging about sexually assaulting women.

Unworthy. Unwanted. Uninvited.

And yet...it bothers you that he played golf?

McCain just recognized a racist flimflam man when he saw one.

$25 million settlement finalized in Trump University lawsuit

Sadly, no one will get to testify on alleged fraud committed by Trump

Why would any decent person want someone like this attending their funeral?

Bottom line, it does not matter what Trump did or did not do, all the media and the haters would have bashed and demeaned him either way and nothing said will deter them.

Trump called a war hero a "loser", when he himself was too cowardly to serve his country. LOL, what else did you expect to happen?

I remember when Republicans claimed to be the party of personal responsibility, but I guess that went out the window long ago eh? Along with family values, fiscal responsibility, and just about every other principle and value they claimed to live by.

Wasn't that one of tRumps campaign promises; "I'll be too busy to play golf"? And how he derided President Obama for the expense of travel and golf? Yet he cost US taxpayer more and played more golf in his first 9 months than President Obama did in 8 years!

But why should one more lie and failed campaign promise bother anyone, one more or less on a mountain of lies … who knew?

Oh. So now your issue isn't with Trump playing golf while the rest of DC was kissing McCain's dead ass and dumping on Trump. Now your issue is Trump lying.

Don't you get dizzy spinning around like that? I know I would.

Calling the third most unpopular Senator in 2018 a "great man" because it gives people the opportunity to dump on Trump indicates a deficit of honor and decency.

Now...we know McCain gave up his honor a long time ago. His record of actions and lies while he was in office prove that. But the hypocrites who took advantage of McCain's death so they can score political points? I'm not certain they ever had any honor.

Oh. So now your issue isn't with Trump playing golf …

Oh, golf is the least of the issues I have with General Bone Spurs; but you brought it up.

while the rest of DC was kissing McCain's dead ass and dumping on Trump.

I think attending the funeral of a fallen hero and dedicated public servant shouldn't be classified as kissing his ass, but I can't think of a better time to honor him.

Now your issue is Trump lying.

Trumps incessant lies should be an issue for every American.

Don't you get dizzy spinning around like that? I know I would.

Well then you must be picking yourself up off the floor.

I brought it up??? Dude...golf is in the thread title.

It's kissing his ass when you spend the last decade or more calling him the scum of the earth but now you call him a great man...and use his death as an opportunity to get in shots against the sitting President.

Trumps incessant lies should be an issue for every American.

Sure. But in a discussion forum, it's better to remain on topic.

Well then you must be picking yourself up off the floor.

Nope. I'm standing stable. It's you who is spinning.

The whole McCain funeral was nothing more than a "hate Trump" fest. How pathetic.

I didn't especially like McCain after all the times he's stabbed conservatives in the back, but I think he deserved better than this.

I never voted for McCain in 2008, but I didn't vote for Obama either, who said brutal things about McCain/Palin during the campaign.
Obama used McCain's funeral to make some pretty vindictive remarks toward the POTUS and that was a pretty classless thing to do.

Thank you for proving the point.

As to Trump being too cowardly to serve, Trump registered with the Selective Service System 10 days after his eighteenth birthday, as we all did.
He went to college and received a total of four 2-S college deferments (as numerous did) until 1968. In 1968 he underwent an Armed Forces physical examination with a result listed as “DISQ” and on 19 September 1968 and was reclassified 1-Y (qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency). He was then placed in the draft lottery and given a high draft number. In 1972 he was reclassified 4-F (not qualified for military service).

So may I assume that everyone who went to college and received 2-S college deferments or received 1-y or 4-f classifications, were cowards in your mind? Or do you just reserve that for only Trump?

All I know is I don't take kindly to someone who dissed our POW's.

I don't either. Or our Intelligence community.

Nor do I appreciate any jerk that pisses on Gold Star families (Khan family) and widows (Myeshia Johnson).

John McCain got an even more fitting send off from a grateful nation, his family and friends than he could have ever foresaw. Well done John.

Even if Donald Trump spent ever one of his 8 billion dollars, he would never have such a send off.

America will not skip a beat.

Sad stuff... A funeral for McCain and it's used to again attack president Trump!
Keep this crap up and it is going to nothing but get Trump reelected.
