Voting by Mail

See post #100 for a whiff of Trump-cult rotten egg up your nose.

A man marries a woman with a high-school aged child and he wants the child to change his name? Sounds like a property thing to me.

Democrats in the fall will have a major come down like they did in 2016 and believe mail will save them. Were it registered voters, they would not clamor so much. They need those who are not lawful to vote.

Here in Idaho I just voted by mail for the primary and am pleased. I now need to send in another ballot by mail request to vote in the fall. When i got the drivers license I was forced by Idaho to guarantee to them I am a citizen. I had to show them my birth certificate and due to Mom divorcing, she changed my last name so Idaho forced me to certify my last name is true going back to around 1952. Mom had me used the old last name until high school when she suddenly changed it to my stepfathers last name. So please, do not give me the shuck and jive it is too hard for blacks. I am white and easily jumped through those hoops. Idaho did not simply trust me, they wanted proof and I gave it to them.

When I voted in CA, where they still have me registered to vote there. it was a much simpler process for sure.

Alaska also requires a certified copy of your birth certificate before they issue you a driver's license or a State ID. They also treat all mail-in or absentee ballots as "provisional" ballots. All those who are not voting in their assigned voting district, or do not provide a valid AK driver's license or State ID are also given "provisional" ballots. Only those who show up in person in their designated voting district and provides a valid AK driver's license or State ID is given a "certified" ballot.

After the polls close in Alaska the certified ballots are counted first. Only if the election is within 1% are the provisional ballots counted. Otherwise all provisional ballots are thrown into the trash and never counted.

We allow everyone to vote in Alaska, but only those who are certified US citizens and Alaskan residents will have their vote counted. So I will definitely be voting in person in my assigned voting district with a valid AK driver's license.

Much of the nonsense being bruited about on voting by mail can be tested against the data available from the 5 US states which now conduct elections by mail. "The truth is out there." [A tip-o-the-hat to Fox Mulder.]
