Most people who commit these types of crimes are not criminals prior to these events. Most of them have little to no record....so yes...limiting magazine size will slow the ability of someone to kill 50+ people in the matter of minutes, background checks will help in many cases keeping guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them. Registration of guns helps ensure that only responsible people have them.

For many of these types of shootings today, the shooters do have records of domestic abuse or mental illness or both. We can crackdown on both of those things will more public will.
