Yeah...the people who created the founding documents were totes paranoid for no good reason. Sorry, but the 2A is one of the founding pillars of my country. Why? Because governments are responsible for more killing than what any individual person could do. It's not even close.

I suspect that the founding fathers would cringe today at how the gun nuts and NRA have twisted the 2nd Amendment to allow the types of weapons that our society has today. I doubt highly they had AR-15's in mind when they wrote the 2nd amendment.

WTF are you talking about? Everyone who buys a firearm from a licenced dealer undergoes a background check. There is no flag for people to get one and others not. The previous administration used the SSI classification to deny people the ability to own a gun.

The NRA and right-wing's answer is ALWAYS....nothing will help prevent gun violence....so lets just keep doing nothing. That isn't an acceptable answer anymore. Reasonable and responsible gun regulation may not prevent every act of gun violence but it will prevent some of them and certainly is better than doing nothing.
