Michael Cohen pleads guilty to lying to Congress about Trump real estate project in Russia

I suppose to a neophyte on such matters, you might look at it that way.

Trump had an active project he was pursuing. The fact the deal never closed is rather moot. If Trump were spending time and money pursuing an economic opportunity in Russia, Mueller and Congress will likely consider it an emolument....and if Trump's policy toward Russia was inconsistent with American policy (as it appears to be) BUT consistent with his own business interests, its impeachable.

See ya at the hearings.

*emolument* ?? On a deal that fell through and he wasn't President ?? Seriously :lamo

Lets ask all the other republican candidates if they were conducting private business while they were campaigning. C'mon Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, Ben Carson etc - fess up now.

And if trump gets away with this too - I want EVERY democrat presidential candidate for 2020 to conduct private business during the election campaign . Wanna bet trump and any republican presidential candidate screeches and rants about LOCKING EM UP.
Well to be fair Hillary was doing pay for play doing the election with the Clinton Foundation. It wasn't till she lost the election and political power that the Clinton Foundation "donations" plummeted.

I think most of us are waiting for Mueller's report.
In the meantime, it is a lot of fun to speculate about the significance of every development as they occur.:)

LOL. Given what we have already seen from Mueller, his report will be a doozy. And if Mueller proves that trump, his family and his mates commited crimes, I am betting the republicans will DO NOTHING. And the trump supporters will continue to support and defend him.

If Mueller doesn't have 24/7 security protection now - he better arrange some. The trumpsters will be sending him death threats 100% guaranteed.

So... Trump really was doing business in Russia and trying to build in Russia while he was lying to Americans and saying he wasn't? I'm shocked. Shocked I tell you.

Seriously? The Clinton Foundation was investigated and they found NOTHING ILLEGAL. All the crap you and fellow trumpsters spewed about the foundation, emails and benghazi were all investigated and she did NOTHING ILLEGAL.

trump however is panicking. He knows his number is up. Can't wait to see the House Democrats go after him and his crooked family and friends.

And the republican Senate will continue to do whatever they must to ensure their beloved ***** grabber never sets foot in jail.

Why would you think it's a problem for anyone to conduct private business while they are campaigning? Why can't a Democrat conduct private business while campaigning?

Anyway, it appears you don't know how this stuff works either since you didn't actually respond to anything I said in my post.

Your tin foil hat is cutting circulation off if you think a project that never materialized falls under emoluments law. Incredible.

No, Hillary was not doing pay for play. Every right-wing allegation has long been debunked. These are in the zombie lie category -- lies that have been disproven but then repeated again and again.

Fox News's Shepard Smith debunks his network's favorite Hillary Clinton 'scandal,' infuriates viewers

A lot of the allegations about the Clinton Foundation “scandal” come from a man named Peter Schweizer, who wrote a book called Clinton Cash in which he makes all kinds of claims about the Foundation. Mr. Schweizer was a senior editor for Breitbart News, the alt-right news site run by Donald Trump’s campaign CEO.
What’s amazing about these claims is how demonstrably false they are. The Clinton Foundation gets better ratings from non-profit watchdogs than the Red Cross, including ratings for being transparent — that’s for showing exactly where their money comes from and where it goes. People have accused the Clinton Foundation of wrongdoing because only 6% of their money goes to grants, but the Clinton Foundation isn’t in the business of funding grants. What they actually do is provideAIDS medication to rural African communities, combat climate change, and provide relief to areas affected by natural disasters.

But even if those allegations were true, it doesn't indemnify the criminal activities of Trump. The "Billy did it too" defense is third grade.

A presidential candidate and later president can't have side-deals with foreign leaders. Besides it being a threat to the nation, it's specifically prohibited in the constitution.

The facts speak for themselves regardless of your suspicions.
Trump changed his mind about doing business, building a Trump tower in Moscow, when in fact, he became a serious presidential contender.

If trump raped and murdered a 12 year old girl live on national TV , would trumpsters still support him? I believe they would.

Sorry. trump has defecated all over the US constitution and the republicans have allowed him to do it.

Remember trump has stated several times that he wants to change the constitution to suit his needs. Wants to abolish the 1st amendment and he wants presidents to serve more than 2 terms. Lindsey Graham and others have said they are serious about changing the constitution to help trump.

Apparently it is illegal for a democrat candidate to conduct private business while campaigning. Have you read the posts that slam Hillary for doing business with her Clinton Foundation during the campaign? But Michael Cohen talking to the Russians about building a Trump Towers in Moscow is perfectly kosher. Oh wait. Cohen is a very WEAK person and trump has never met or spoken to him ever.

That's the worst part. Other dictators were alcoholics or on painkillers. Trump is high on himself.

trump is a psycopath right now. He is capable of starting a nuclear war. Can you imagine what he will do once Mueller releases his findings. Thankfully Mueller isn't stupid enough to release them until the democrats take control of the House. So we have a few more weeks before trump goes completely psycho.

And after he is gone, we will have 2 years of pence. Will the trumpsters support pence as much as they have trump? I don't think so.

Huber is investigating the Clinton Foundation now Mark Meadows said the house is having a hearing December the 5th with Huber. Meadows said they have a couple of whistle blowers they are going to talk to. Follow the money.

Didn't the Senate keep the exhibitionist rapist out of jail on the last impeachment too?

Charity Watch (American Institute of Philanthropy) gives the Clinton Foundation an "A" rating. https://www.charitywatch.org/governance-and-transparency/clinton-foundation/478

The Trump Foundation however has not disbursed a single penny of the $502,000 the Trump Organization contributed to it in 2017, or of the $271,000 in unspecified donations it also received in 2017. Which could place it in violation of the law.

https://www.showbiz411.com/2018/11/29/donald-trump-may-have-broken-irs-law-by-not-distributing-any-percentage-of-funds-he-placed-in-tax-free-charity
"According to IRS rules. private charities must disburse at least 5% of the money they’ve taken in in one year. This is so donors can’t just park money in a tax free account. The Trump Foundation currently has $1.7 million in assets, but hasn’t given any of it away."

Just throw that on top of the pile I guess.

I thought only the guys I ran with, said that! (well, except for the "dickweed" part)

dickweed = dekjui'

I had friends that lived in Prague during the 90's, and Czechoslovakian Air used to give me free tickets whenever I asked for them. Lots and lots of visits there. It was a magical time.

If at some point monies had changed hands during the course of the negotiations than it possibly could.

"apparently" So...are you telling me it is illegal? Or are you guessing?

But hey...if it IS illegal, why hasn't Hillary been investigated?

How many times are you going to be debunked on your endless "but...Hillary!" attempts?

Fortunately, presidents don't get to unilaterally amend the constitution. What he can do is violate it, get impeached and then face jail time for many, many crimes.

I suppose you can call what they are blowing 'whistles', if you want to. I guess.

Ah, now I get it. Thanks.

I still have a few bottles of Becherovka laying around. Good on a cold day like today (it is in the 60's here today, I'm freezing)
