I was disappointed with Manny Machado's reaction after last night's game. I get that he's frustrated and pissed off with the Red Sox, I've lost a lot of respect for them as well, but keep your cool in the post-game interviews and just pay them back with home runs like the past two nights, and charge the mound if the pitcher actually does hit you. Now they know that they've gotten to him and it will only get worse.
I am not. He handled it perfectly. Boston has now tried 3 different pitchers to end his career in the less then a week, on 5 pitches, either at his head or his surgically repaired knees. Machado's point was pitchers get very little punishment, especially starting pitchers. A 5 game suspension = 1 start. Machado charging the mound against Yordano Ventura got him a 4 game suspension (actually missed 4 games). Ventura got 8 games (missed 1 start). Machado also points out, a pitcher throwing at a player is "okay" by the league but if Manny or any other player swung and clocked the pitcher with a bat, he'd be suspended for the year.
