Greg Gianforte vs Rob Quist

He's outperforming HRC though, according to numbers I just looked at.

BTW, Garfield county, last November, HRC took 4.7% of the vote..

LMAO!

I'd love to stroll down Main St. in a Black Lives Matter T-shirt there.

Let's go. I'll buy a rainbow speedo.

Whoa!

"Billings is the largest city in the state of Montana, and is the principal city of the Billings Metropolitan Area with a population of 166,855."[5]

That's the size of a suburb around here!

This is one rural state! The state is only one Congressional district - the entire state.

It's the largest by a long shot.

Edit to add, my county is 5500 square miles with 10000 residents.

So can we assume the Lib candidate draws from the Repub?

It's always pretty funny when a state has more senators than representatives.

Well.... Greg definitely won Wibaux county with one of one precincts reporting.

Gianforte is way ahead now...

Greg Gianforte (Republican) 48.6% 98,430

Rob Quist (Democratic) 45.7% 92,578

Mark Wicks (Libertarian) 5.7% 11,631

41% Precincts Reporting, 202,639 Total Votes

I think Montana has around 355,000 registered voters.

One of my college roommates was from Wibaux... god awful place.

pop. 589 for 2010 census.. those kids prolly look for the first ticket to anywhere...

especially considering we're the 4th largest by area.

It's time for a state's merge. Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho and Wyoming become one state. Then make Washington DC a state.

Then Texas can't brag about being the largest state in the continental US.

damn it my county hasn't posted anything yet and I know they started counting ballots after lunch.

Also Wicks sucking off all those votes going to hurt Gianforte as I suspect the majority (75%) of them would have voted R if he weren't in there, that or stayed home.

I totally think counties these days hold out to be one of the last just to get some press.

Eastern MT is just like western ND, a real problem for Sen. Heitkamp next year .

I've not appreciated her trying to play right-wing dem. I hate that crap. They always end up losing. Why would anyone expect a right-wing public to back republican lite when they can just vote republican instead?

I'm following the BDC Twitter feed. They predict 400,000 total votes out of 700,000 registered and they're saying to watch Cascade and Flathead counties.

IMHO, the rural came out and beat the cities, which certainly aren't liberal or progressive .

That's why republicans have 21 of 26 senators from the plains and mountains, along with 23 of 28 senators from the south, because of the DEM archipelago purity test .

Manchin and Tester make it work. And on the other side people like Baker, Hogan, and Collins. Although they certainly lose sometimes being moderate definitely seems to help in dark red/blue states where you're on the other side. I don't see any unabashed liberals or conservatives in deep red or blue districts respectively right now.

I'd watch Yellowstone county, nothing has been updated since numbers went up so those are probably the mail-ins. Gianforte has to win by a big margin there or the more bluer counties such as Missoula will be more than enough to offset them.
