Cuomo was in no way prepared for this pandemic. If he was, he wouldn't need Trump to send him a hospital ship, ventilators, masks, etc. as well as quickly build new facilities.

Well, lets take a look. Trump ordered a national emergency after 1 death. Obama did it after 4000 which more than doubled in 30 days.

Hypocrisy? Trump ran as an outsider who he stated can fix it. Trump is the biggest hypocrite. He is a global embarrassment. Testing is still an issue in our country.

You don't want to talk about Obama now and you didn't talk about him during H1N1 either. The same standards used on Trump should have been used on Obama. 1 in 6 Americans got H1N1. As of today, 1 in 929 Americans has gotten Covid-19.

Really, what people should be talking about is the duplicity of China which could have prevented 90% of the worldwide deaths had they not covered up for 7 weeks. Remember, 460,000 Chinese came to the US during that period and who knows how many to other places like Italy. But hey, let's rag on Trump.

And what could he have done when 100's of NY residents came home from China with the disease without a peep from the CDC? Remember that Trump told us it was "under control" just a few weeks ago.

You have no idea how many Americans have actually been infected by covid 19. No one does because testing was delayed for months by Trump's inaction. The projections also say that 3 times as many people will die as in the H1N1 epidemic. You actually think that means Trump has done a good job?

H1N1 didn’t have persons who were asymptomatic and had 10k die within 2 months. But hey it’s 2020. Remind me when Obama wanted to put a guy like Kushner in charge of anything. It would be comical if we all didnt suffer from this guys daily indecisions.

First off, nobody has any idea how many people have been infected anywhere, not just here. We're talking about confirmed cases to date. Yes, more people will die from Covid-19 but that is because it is a much more virulent strain of virus than H1N1. Trump can't change that fact anymore than anyone else can. It's an apples and oranges comparison. As for testing, you can't test until you see what you're testing for. IOW, you have to have some virus before you can design a test for it. Trump has no control over that.

Because we have a CDC that is paid to take care of such matters. Why should a Governor be solely responsible ?

Obama was not happy with our response to H1N1 and started a pandemic task force to better deal with the next one. Trump dissolved it and that is only one of his missteps that have led to where we are now. The nation with the most cases of covid19. Sorry but I do not see how you can avoid the conclusion that Trump and the agencies he oversees has failed us.

Indecisions? He's on TV daily giving a laundry list of all the things that are happening. Hospital ships being sent, rapidly building new facilities, sending out thousands of ventilators, masks, etc., ramping up testing rapidly including blood tests, producing hydroxychloroquine in massive amounts, further work on a vaccine, etc. The idea that Trump is not being pro-active is laughably absurd.

I can easily avoid it because it has no relation to reality. ALL the shortages that existed when covid-19 started also existed when Obama left office. If Trump has failed on that score then so did Obama. As I said, Trump has no control whatever over how virulent the virus is. The idea that some task force would have been prepared for this is simply inconsistent with what we know about the inefficiency of government. How many times has FEMA failed and yet they never seem to get any better.

Why should anyone buy a fire extinguisher when they pay taxes to have a fire department?

Why should a state mandate having ventilators in its hospitals if the federal government did not offer them money to do so?

The real question is, what on earth is Joe Biden doing? He is stuck in Connecticut hiding in his library sucking his wife's finger. What a loser.

The Federal Govt. should be in charge of disaster aid and equipment anyone can see how much more efficient that is. That is why we have FEMA.
