I know. So I'm surely not calling you a racist. I am claiming that you buy racists' excuses. And I don't. I recognize the significance of a symbol's purpose in creation. And I will not excuse it for a racist.
Similarly, no one will ever convince me that a Swastika is about "good ole boys". I know for what it was created. I will not turn a blind eye.
If someone claimed a rainbow is about "good ole boys", well, yeah, that could be. Because a rainbow was not created as a symbol of something (metaphysics aside).
ok...
Don't ya think it's kinda strange that, given a hundred years, they couldn't come up with another symbol for "good ole boy"? If it's so important, why no devoted symbol? Because it's bs to excuse racism. There are lots of symbols and only racists need that one.
And, by the way, "good ole boy" means racist. So they are using an appropriate symbol.

If someone claims to be a "good ole boy", they're admitting racism. Just so you know.
Um, no...
Yes, they are and you should deal with that reality. It's a dog whistle, one of the oldest and used specifically to refer to racists. Every time someone has told me they're a good ole boy, they were a racist. Only racists self identify as such. Stop being blind.

Racism was far more accepted then. Try that car today in a TV show and see what happens. You should mature with the times and accept reality.
Well, I see flags flyin' all the time around here and I get around a lot, knockin' on doors and all...:2razz:
One can never divorce the creation of a symbol from the symbol. It was created for one reason: To symbolize racism.
Couldn't care what a racist uses as an excuse. They have a lot of excuses for a lot of racist crap.
The flag used to show "Southern heritage" is the battle flag. If southerners wanted to show their "heritage" then they use their state's flag under the confederacy.
There's a lot of racism.
In 1860-61, eleven southern states seceded from the United States to protect the institution of slavery, forming the Confederate States of America and precipitating the Civil War. During the war, the Confederacy and its military forces used a variety of flags, but the flag that became most associated with the Confederacy was the so-called "battle flag." Organizations such as the Sons of Confederate Veterans adopted the flag as a symbol of Southern heritage but the flag also served as a potent symbol of slavery and white supremacy, which has caused it to be very popular among white supremacists in the 20th and 21st centuries. This popularity extends to white supremacists beyond the borders of the United States.
Today, the use of the Confederate flag is often controversial. While a number of non-extremists still use the flag as a symbol of Southern heritage or pride, there is growing recognition, especially outside the South, that the symbol is offensive to many Americans. However, because of the continued use of the flag by non-extremists, one should not automatically assume that display of the flag is racist or white supremacist in nature. The symbol should only be judged in context.
Did you happen to read the link AProudlefty posted?
Sure. It's still always racist.
Do you not know Hitler reversed the direction? I didn't need to click to know that.
Laughable ignorance.
Are you friggen kidding me? Really, that’s your defense.
This is why the left is just as bad as the right. Absolutely zero intelligence into a thought or policy, pure unfiltered emotion.

It might not be a hate group, but it is a racist.
Were the Founding Fathers racists for owning slaves? Was it considered racist at that time?
