Christian School Expels Girl for Wearing Rainbow Sweater on Her Birthday

Yes, and it also explains how the school expects the home to work in partnership.

So can we all safely state now that the rainbow sweater and cake were not just happy little rainbows but did, in fact, intend to convey a specific message, one that is in opposition to the school's standards and expectations?

I only needed to read the headline of the thread to know 1) there was going to be considerably more to the story than what was presented, and 2) who wasn't going to bother to find out what and just condemn based on the headline.

I feel the same about all religions, a bunch of hoodoo voodoo. Is that an attack on religion?

Yes since you haven't proved it's all "hoodoo voodoo" and nothing more. FWIW, I'd have a similar response for those who attack non-believers or anyone of differing beliefs. It's fine to discuss those beliefs, but like the RWers ridiculing Greta Thunberg, just attacking people is lame.

An agreement signed to by the parents. Are you now claiming the parents were unaware of the rules? What, exactly are you advocating here? If you are advocating couples must pass an IQ and competency test before having children, I agree.

They might have been aware of the rules, but not the ramifications. The limits of the rules are open ended. That's the red flag they weren't aware of.

Mark Twain summed up religion quite eloquently. “Religion started when the first ConMan met the first fool”

Kayla and her parents appeared to have been aware of her multiple transgressions over the previous two years. Do you really think they, or at least the mother and/or daughter, are so stupid as to think treading even close to the line would not go unnoticed? If you are a parent, what would be your reaction if you were told "Your child is on probation. One more problem and the next step is expulsion"? Blow it off as unimportant? Not ask any questions about what that might be?

You are not a progressive.

You're making a lot of pronouncements about what people are and what they think. Your psychic abilities are astounding.

Many progressives including on this forum not only called for the Catholic kid on a school field trip to be expelled from school, but that his entire future be ruined.

I thought Christians were all about rainbows. Remember God gave Noah the rainbow sign. Who knows what Christianity is about these days? Putting children in cages, and advocating torture. I left that cult 40 years ago and have never looked back.

If things came to such a bad pass, I'd have withdrawn my child at the end of the semester.

What exactly were those transgressions?

Trump Derangement Syndrome is the antithesis of beating someone up for their wearing a MAGA hat.

You realize that TDS applies to Trump supporters, right?

You participate in this thread because the girl wore a rainbow on her shirt. Disdain for rainbows and the consequent gay movement is 'evil' to you.

Uh no. I participate in this thread because it is unknown as to why she was expelled.

You consider it an attack, I consider it offering my opinion concerning organized religion.

And you are correct, I haven't proved it's all hoodoo voodoo no more than a believer in jesus has proven to me god exists. Pointing to a book put together by men is not proof in my opinion. The bible says to me means as much as david koresh says. Zero.

A fair point.

Yes but WHY? Those things are not in any even remotely "gay".

The symbol of rainbows is "not even remotely gay"? I mean...... really?

It's obvious that there is more to the story than just a rainbow cake and sweater. Literally anyone with half of a brain knows about click-bait article titles and to look into the story more before jumping to conclusions.

So the rainbow over Noah's ark is gay? Odd.

 ..

That's what I did when I read your post. You and I have no idea if it was intended to support gay pride. No evidence ever. Mother said it wasn't for gay pride and the school conceded.

If they had any stronger evidence to expel her for, they should have picked that.

Picking the birthday cake and traditional girl's sweater was stupid.
