Wow! Duckworth blocks all military promotions until Esper states in writing he won’t interfere with

Wow.

You go, Senator Tammy.

As expected, Sen. Duckworth once again demonstrates the massive stupidity of Democrats and their hatred towards the military. Only Congress has the power to create and promote military officers, not Secretaries of Defense. There is absolutely nothing the Secretary of Defense can do to prohibit or advance anyone's promotion, other than making a recommendation. All the power resides with Congress. This is merely a stunt by Sen. Duckworth. Just another leftist Democrat scumbag causing harm to all those who deserve to be promoted in order to try to score some political points.

LTC Duckworth (ret) gave her legs in service to her country. Her actions once again show the massive stupidity of the rabid right toward strong willed women who disagree with the rabid right mindset....

Congress is the rubber stamp to a military promotion board. Congress doesn't review each Officer's achievements and a committee decides who will get a jump up. I doubt more than a handful of Congress critters even know a promotion occurred... :doh

If you serve for any length of time you know there is the unwritten review board and a chain of command. If a general, or the SoD says no then the promotion board isn't going to buck the system and endanger THEIR careers.

You can disagree with her political lean and her actions but a double amputee war veteran with 23 years service isn't a scumbag... those who try to claim that just might be the .... :peace

Not at all confused. If junior Sen Duckworth wants to risk the voters ire for the sake of a coerced "promise", I wish her all the best luck in her next election. Surely she's smarter than that. Oh wait, she's a D.

I love it.....coerced "promise". Literally showing us that you, as a cultist, believe that doing the right thing would have to be: 1) coerced, and 2) "promise" would be like swearing to tell the truth with your fingers crossed behind your back.

And this, ladies & gentlemen, is the current morality of trump and his cultists.

Hardly, but keep thinking that until November.

...and beyond. Will you cry horribly on November 4th? Or are you hoping Uncle Vlad swoops in to save your Lard and Master?

We can see from reading this thread exactly who the orange worshipping scumbags are.

Lets not forget that she suffered from a major injury in her right arm. She has very limited movement there.

LTC Duckworth (ret) isn't risking much by doing this. Her loyalty to this nation far exceeds most of her fellow senators.

First Thai-American in Congress, First born in Thailand, First woman with a disability elected to Congress, First double amputee elected to the Senate, first woman to serve in the senate to give birth while serving.

Combat veteran of the Iraq War, first female double amputee of that war, applied for and got a medical exemption to continue her service.

She is smart, brave, determined and doesn't let obstacles stop her and yes proud to be a D.... :peace

Irrelevant.

The military likes Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Fort Gordon, Fort Hood, Fort Lee, Fort Pickett, Fort Polk, Fort Rucker, and Fort A.P. Hill. Why would they change? Trump said he wouldn't sign the legislation anyway. Change the names of the posts named for Native American killers while you are at it.

That's your excuse for keeping these names of traitors on our bases? They like them? They can learn to like other names . It is an insult to the military to memorialize these men who took up arms against their own country.

Well, you’re talking to a graduate of the Goebbels School of Public Affairs.

I know that trump cultists just don't get it when someone stands up for the proper values.

You realize there are MORE Democrats and Liberal Independents that Conservatives and Conservative Independents? Oh she IS smarter, and just maybe, she is doing what she thinks is right. Oh wait, she's a decorated Veteran.

Duckworth left two legs in Iraq... How much have you sacrificed for this country?
