Why you don't know anyone who died from COVID

Have you personally verified this hospital bed shortage? Or are you just taking the word of someone who makes that claim?

The Republican state government is lying now? That’s what you are claiming? Is Greg Abbott a member of the “Deep State”?

Congratulations! You are number 1,000 of people who have been asked just how Trump delayed anything and and the expected "Deer-in-headlights" look. You win the participation trophy on a nice 8" X 11" stained piece of paper with lettering "MSM only news watcher"

And you are one of the DP posters that like Trump have only succeeded in making things worse thru out this crisis. Being part of the problem is a Trump thing I guess.:lamo

Whatever response you gave him is irrelevant. It's not an "excellent response" or even an acceptable response. If it was, our economy wouldn't be a total disaster right now.

Ummm, shutting down the economy for a bad virus kinda dos put a damper on it, don't it?

I don't remember saying that, but it's probably true. In terms of actual deaths, which are likely a third of those claimed, this is just another flu season. No biggie. But it IS an election year. If this were next year, it wouldn't have made a blip on the radar.

Flu season. In July. Really?

Again, a CLAIM needs to be proven. I can make a hundred claims. It's easy.

And little old you are not going to change people's mindset about risking their lives. Just like your idiot hero Trump and all of the idiot Repug governors have not been able to change mindsets about this. Especially when we now have a record number of cases. And this is why the economy will not recover, because no one has confidence about their safety.

Trump just said yesterday that COVID-19 will magically go away. After a record number of cases a day or two ago. The man is ****ing certifiable and no one is listening to this lunatic anymore. Not even you.

Cool! Following your courageous logic, since I don't know anyone who killed themselves with a bullet to the brain, I got nothing to worry about this upcoming game of Russian Roulette I got planned for this afternoon, right? Whew! Good to know.

I literally don't know anyone (personally) that died from prostate cancer.

We argue with idiots.

Oh, BS. You folks that are led around by the democrat machine like sheep just fail to admit the problem is far less than we have been told. It's politics as usual, in that democrats are just looking for anything and everything to use against the President to try to win the 2020 election. Nobody isn't sorry about the loss of life but we have millions die each year of a variety of serious causes that we don't react to. Lung cancer for instance, nobody is ordering a stoppage of smoking. Auto accidents, we are all still driving. The list is long and we continue to carry on as usual. The difference here is the numbers are being inflated for dollars by hospitals and ambulance services because that's what the government is paying big $$$$ for. Has anyone compared the total deaths this year to the past 10 years? If you do you will find, they are pretty close, so we aren't loosing more lives and we are aware that the older you are the more chance you will die of some illness, one of the many. In fact we are using a flu like virus to try to win an election and in the process ruining businesses and peoples lives with total disregard for those poor people.

At the end of April we are up by about 66,000 deaths over the last few years. I suspect you were looking at the projections that were made before anyone knew about Covid-19.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/us-reports-66000-more-deaths-than-expected-so-far-this-year/2020/04/29/b6833548-8a68-11ea-ac8a-fe9b8088e101_story.html

Texas hospital bed stats are being reported by state agencies. State agencies answer to Republican Greg Abbott. So you are saying Greg Abbott is lying about the numbers.

If you hypocrites really cared so much about each and every life, you would make driving cars illegal.

Driving is one of the most regulated things one can do - it's even more regulated than owning a gun.

Speaking of hypocrites, you give up your anti-vaxxing evangelism yet?

A better analogy would be a gun that has 10,378 bullets in it and you are told to pull the trigger or lose your job, your home, your way of life and put your grand kids in poverty from shutting down the country.

I happen to think that most all of the leftists here would refuse those odds and say to hell with the rest of the humans. That is just how selfish and entitled society is today.

I want to respond, but I'm not sure I understand your analogy. More explanation possible?

More testing = more cases. Hospitals are empty and hurting for cash. Here's how it goes:

Director at meeting: Staff, we haven't had any elective surgeries in months and we have had to let go 50 employees.
Doctors: What do we do? I can't pay my mortgage OR my BMW payment. Am I being let go?
Director: I can't tell you doctors and nurses what to do, But.........if someone tests positive for Covid, get his ass in a hospital bed fast. We;re going broke. Do you understand?
Nurse way in the back waving her hand: But I'm a socialist and I thought there would always be money from "the rich" (crying now)
Director: THIS commune is on the chopping block and so are you.
Doctor: What about my Mercedes?
Direcftor: You all know what to do now. Someone has sniffles and a fever. Don't send his ass home. We have beds here that are empty. I have to go folks. CNN wants a special on this pandemic and I am going to tell them that people are really sick and thanks for their good work in reporting just the facts and our address is......................

The Texas government has admitted it....
LOL

You literally just linked to the exact same article. Are you for reals?

Since your ability to read appears to be challenged: Categorization does NOT explain what we are seeing. It does not explain why there was a sudden surge of cases in the past two weeks; it does not explain why hospitalization rates are rising.

I also don't hear Governor Abbott trying to blame this on increased testing or categorization. I wonder why? :thinking

I noticed, by the way, that your precious source is dated 6/25. During that time, the number of new cases per day has increased from 4500 to 6500, even though Texas banned elective procedures again over a week ago.

Your claim simply does not hold up.

I don't believe them. What now?

Because you were so apoplectic when 50,000 people died of the flu last year?

120,000 have died in 4 months with another 20,000 projected in the upcoming weeks and we let it get away from us again. Big difference.

I want to respond, but I'm not sure I understand your analogy. More explanation possible?

There has been three deaths for every 10,378 people. You would need a lot more bullets.

I'm thinking you might need to work on your analogies...they're meant to clear up an issue, and the more you write, the more confusion this gets.

Why do I want to kill 10,378 people? And if I do not, why do I want more bullets? Maybe just try the direct approach, this analogy is all over the place.

At the inflated death claims by the CDC of 125,000, over 80% of those are over 65. Unless you have a grandma or granpa around or know someone in a nursing home, the chances are slim you would know anyone who died from it. But, for all those who attended the socialist public skool system here is the math for all 125,000 deaths:

3 people in ten thousand have die from it. Of those three, at least 2 are over 65
37 people in a hundred thousand have died from it. Of those, 30 of them were over 65 and just 7 under 65
378 people in a million have died from it. Of those 302 were over 65 and 76 were under 65
3,780 people in ten million died. Of those 3,024 were over 95 and just 756 were under 65
125,000 people out of 330 million have died. Of those 100,000 were over 65 and just 25,000 were under 65

Now you know that you can sleep well tonight. No more fretting and nail biting. Sleep tight.

Our community recently lost a loved and highly respected family doctor to COVID. He had been in practice here for over 30 years. He had no significant medical conditions. News of his death spread around the community like wildfire.

How about those over 65? How well should they sleep? But I'm glad you feel safer because it's clear you don't feel compassion.
