Who is a Christian?

That has not been my experience. Through my brother and threw another friend I've gotten to know a lot of scientists many of them are very devout Christians.
They're the exception.

Did YOU read the story, or are you winging it? Perhaps you saw a cartoon version or you're trying very hard to be disagreeable? The real birth mother of Moses hid the baby for three months. Jochebed was the real mother and nursed Moses and this would have involved several years ---- likely even becoming a "nanny" to Moses.
So, he learned Hebrew in those 3 months of life?

Likely even becoming? He grew up in Egypt. Lived the Egyptian life. Spoke to Egyptian speaking friends and adopted family. That is a fact, not a likely perhaps sort of thing.

Did you not read the link I gave you? Likely, using your word, you might be winging it.

Now if you said he became the leader of Hebrew people, he learned it from them. I can buy that.
But it's just a story handed down for hundreds of years.

What part regarding a "nanny" didn't you get. Answer me first, " Do you read Ceationists websites and watch their videos?"

You said likely. That means you don't know.

Moses' mother ended up nursing Moses. That could last several years at the very least. You didn't answer my other question. I take that to be no. I will read some of what liberals have to say, but I treat them mostly as they treat christian (indifferently) for obvious reasons.

Since you're likely just making up things. I saw no point in further responses.
Maybe you get treated indifferently, if that's what you think, because of the tendency to make assumptions.

Hebrews 11:23

By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

Exodus 2:5-11
5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.

9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

"The Bible" in the book accepted by the majority of Protestants is a collection of 66 books, 39 Old Testament (Tanakh) and 27 New Testament. The Roman Catholic Church's Bible has 73 books; the additional seven are known as the Apocrypha. Greek and Russian Orthodox churches accept 79 books, while the Ethiopian Orthodox faith has 81 books.

Funny how so many who call themselves Christian can't agree with others who call themselves Christian.

Another subject on which Christians can't agree is the dating of the books found in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Recent scholarly work has been looking at the possibilities that the Old Testament books were all written during the Alexandrian period at the Library of Alexander in the Third and Second Centuries BCE, while the New Testament texts were created in the second half of the Second Century CE.

Of course, I expect some responses that will argue for earlier dating for these old books, while others who frequently post here may have me on "Ignore".

How were these Hebrew people communicating with Egyptian people. I highly doubt 5000 yrs ago they spoke multiple languages.

You know, that is likely fokelore handed down for generations.
There's no archaeological history of Hebrews being slaves in Egypt.

Historical Evidence and Debates

While the biblical story is rich in detail, its historical accuracy has been the subject of debate among archaeologists and historians. There are several points of contention:

1. Chronology: Determining the exact timeline of Hebrew enslavement is challenging. Different scholars place the Exodus (the liberation of the Hebrews from Egypt) at different periods, ranging from the Middle Kingdom to the New Kingdom.

2. Archaeological Records: Direct archaeological evidence linking the Hebrews to ancient Egypt during the said period of enslavement is scant. There are no Egyptian records that clearly document the enslavement of a people identifiable as the Hebrews.

3. City of Ramses: The Bible mentions that the enslaved Hebrews built the store cities of Pithom and Ramses. Some associate the mention of Ramses with Pharaoh Ramesses II, suggesting a New Kingdom timeline for the enslavement. However, no archaeological evidence directly supports this claim.

4. Semites in Egypt: There's evidence of Semitic peoples in ancient Egypt working in various capacities, including labor. The Brooklyn Papyrus, for instance, lists several Semitic slaves in Egypt. However, whether these were Hebrews or another Semitic group is not specified.

Not according to Jesus...Matthew 7...

21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.+

22 Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord,+ did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works* in your name?’+

23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew* you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’+

The Hebrews were in Egypt for approximately 430 years. How long does a person need to live in Paris before one learns French? And actually, only some Hebrews likely learned Egyptian and were the go-between. The rest lived together in their own communities.

I showed you there's no evidence archaeologically that confirms any Hebrews in Egypt.
So, they have to live there before learning the language. And then, they would have to interact. Which if it were true Hebrews were enslaved in Egypt, yes a handful would speak Egyptian.

Youtube videos are opinion pieces. How many of those videos are of believers in the god of abraham.
Give links to the sources so i know where they originate. And not make me watch lengthy videos that are likely biased.

Use real archaeologists. Not biblical archaeologists.

Can you show any of those links to be non biased.

None of us is qualified to judge, so I don't want to argue with a professed Christian. Do I think that all professed Christians are Christians? No. I believe that some are heretics, whether they realize this or not. Thank God for His mercy!

Those saying Lord, Lord can be understood as religious fanatics…..Jesus sees them as being tied to a specific religion rather than being drawn to the Spirit…….they are the ones that give birth to the doctrines of men….

How many "real" archaeologists are not atheists or agnostics? How many "real" archaeologists do not accept Darwinism? Would such links be non biased? Why can atheists and agnostics and evolutionists be non biased but Bible investigators, Christians, and those that believe in GOD cannot?

Who knows, who cares.

Real archaeologists don't start out with a bias and then look for any little remote thing they can link to an already biased mind set.

Real archaeologists let the data determine the findings.

Why can't you believe that real archaeologists have found no links to Hebrew people living in Egypt in the time frames you think they lived?
People who believe in god and go in with the mind set that they will make up evidence to prove their own beliefs.

Do you know anything about bias and fitting the evidence to a belief?

I do believe that it is Jesus doing the judging...just pointing out what he said about the subject...

Who says? If one seeks Atlantis, one looks at all ancient data that regards the subject. If one is interested in Pompeii, one seeks Mt. Vesuvius. If a researcher doesn't know what he's looking for he will find plenty of nothing.

I believe that there are two different kinds of Christians.

There are those who have aligned their beliefs with Christianity the religion.

Then there are those who wish to have a membership in Christianity the organization.

These groups have very, very different motivations. The former looks to Christianity for spiritual guidance, moral compass and inner peace. The latter looks to Christianity to accrue power, force compliance and establish an identity. The former cares about the words in the Bible. The latter cares about having one to hold in public.

I find the guy interesting, but I see this as another way to simply explain the GOD if the Bible away...

The Cathars did well with the faith, dualism notwithstanding.

Christianity is a very difficult religion.

Why do you think people like @cpwill call themselves “Pro-Life” and call it a day? It’s a lot easier than actually following Christ.
Sure is.

The imitatio christi is a cruciform discipline, worked out in fear and trembling, in lonely heights, in silence and the dark night.
