What Will Be The Future of The Republican Party When These States Turn Blue?

Trump has damaged political thinking. We assume its always going to be this way. It wont. Times change and new people rise to the challenge.

Except they aren't rising to the challenge. After 4 years of Trump, people pretty have their mind made up about Trump, yet the democrats are running on we aren't trump. This goes to the point Carville is making. The democrats are not appealing to the people who will decide this election. They are pandering to illegal aliens and college students. They are not addressing issues that are clear and present in the lives of swing voters. Those are the people who worry about paying their electric bills and car payments and are not going to be sold on even more expensive green energy today to "save the planet" 20 years from now and are the same people who can see being forced to buy cars they already cannot afford in the name of saving the planet as not the best path to take at this present moment.

Yes but thats my point, nobody predicted it. It was assumed based on turnout and how popular Obama was and Bush/Cheney werent, that Ds would run the show for a long time. Nobody even in early 2016 thought it would be any republican, let along Trump.

Yes but thats my point, nobody predicted it.

It was hard to predict a Democrat winning in 2008 after the Bush years(LOL)? Start of the Great recession, unpopular Iraq war and increasing national debt? Hmmmm....

Yes, the Tea party did start by a fluke

Nobody even in early 2016 thought it would be any republican, let along Trump

However, Trump wasn't a Conservative and I'll let Bernie tell you!

No , Florida is still a purple state

Stats show that even though Florida is purple, Independents are gaining ground on both parties, but robbing more from Democrats than Republicans.

If democrats want to change voter ID laws they need to make headway into very low levels of state politics. Its beginning to happen, but its also possible, as we have seen that when a D gets the WH, complacency sets in again. Its happened before. Turnout was super high in 2008 and yet look how many state govts went to the GOP in 2010 and 2012..

That's the point of my comment. Voter ID laws should be made national. One set of requirements that are uniform. Who gave anyone the right to manipulate voter requirements at will to put their fingers on the scale?

Voting rights cannot be denied or abridged based on the following: "Race, color, or previous condition of servitude" (15th Amendment, 1870) "On account of sex" (19th Amendment, 1920) "By reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax" for federal elections (24th Amendment, 1964

Can anyone give me one reason why the United States can't pass an amendment that unifies the voting requirements for every state in this country?

The New Democratic Socialist Party is full of nutjobs and their policies are bat**** crazy. It would not surprise me if TX went further right than at present.

I don't know about that. Texas does seem to be getting more blue. A lot of Californians are leaving the state in droves and moving to Texas. This may be a case of being careful for what you wish for. While Californians might be upset with California's super high liberalism, they might wind up voting moderate blue in Texas.

Independents are gaining ground on both parties,

And that goes for anywhere

But you still have the "illusion" that you really have a choice!

Great deflection!

You did hear of my point of Trump "Dusting off" his bible right?(LOL)

Keep the faith

I don't know you are trying to prove by any of that. It changes nothing. Who do you want Evangelicals to vote for, baby killers?

Go ahead and water down that Trump was a christian for a day to pander to the Christian vote

Yepper!

Ummmmmmmmmm, you missed the point that in Florida Independents are gaining more at the expense of Democrats than Republicans. This means that every year Republicans gain more ground over Democrats.

Did you see how close both the senate and Govs race was there in Florida in 2018?

Holy Mackerel!

Also, have we seen the 2020 voting registration results yet?

No, we haven't.

they'll have to cheat and suppress the vote more actively.

No worries

There will still be plenty of votes for Democrats

Let's hope that there are enough to vote Tweety out.

. This means that every year Republicans gain more ground over Democrats.

How do you come up with that?

True but as I said, we dont know the "who." Take for example, Jebs son in Texas. Many think he is gearing up for a gubernatorial run. He could bring a younger, different version of conservatism to Texas. One that attracts Latinos, since he is half Colombian. We dont really know.

Jebs son in Texas

No more Bush! Sorry!
One that attracts Latinos, since he is half Colombian. We dont really know

Sure.... And Betto came within 3 points of Senator Cruz?

Me thinks not

Democrats tend to bring with them the politics that they are fleeing from.

Yeah, but that's after they retire with their gravy pensions in Blue states

Trump has gained the power of the purse from Congress. Our Constitution gave the power of the purse to Congress, but compliant Republicans in Congress have relinquished that authority to Trump. Republicans allowed Trump to transfer defense funds to the construction of his wall. What is to stop Trump from using funds from Social Security or Medicare for other purposes or simply returning the money to our treasury because he thinks we are spending too much money on such programs?

Because he gave his word? How much is that worth? Trump supporter or Trump critic, all Americans should fear a second term for this man. If you are a Trump supporter, you are voting against yourself.

Evangelicals are very pleased in what President Trump has done in his first 3 years in office.
The number one reason evangelicals voted for Trump was judges. He kept his word on nominating judges/justices that are constitutionalists. So far his nominations the Republican senators have confirmed 2 SC justices and over 190 judges to the federal courts. It is transforming the Judiciary branch making it much harder for the left to judge shop anymore to get things changed that they failed to at the ballot box. Heck we use to refer to the 9th Circuit as the 9th Circus but because of new appointees thanks to Trump and the Republican senators we can't call them a circus anymore. Most only focus on the SC but the overwhelming cases are decided in the lower courts and evangelicals are so thankful.

Evangelicals are so thankful for President Trump's efforts to secure religious liberty whether through legislation or EO's.

Evangelicals are very pleased with Trump's effort to get prison reform done. Nobody believes more in a second chance than evangelicals because they believe that is what G-d's grace has given them.

Evangelicals are very pleased with Trump's backing to expand the Impact Act that was introduced by SC Senator Tim Scott. Using Opportunity Zones provide thousands of low-income communities, both urban and rural, across the country with the potential to transform the future for generations to come. It is all about getting businesses to invest in these areas providing training and job opportunities. Evangelicals know all about the downtrodden because they through their churches do what they can through volunteers and church donations. They see this opportunity like putting the old proverb of "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." to good work while providing what it takes through investments to make sure it is successful.

President Trump has turned out to be the most pro-life president as well as his vice president EVER. He has called on Congress to ban late term abortions. This year the Democratic party went all out on going so far left on their stance on abortion that many across this country call it infanticide even 21 million pro-life Democrats. The exe director of the Democrats for Life of America wrote a scathing op-ed over the stance the Democratic party on abortion. She even attended a townhall for Pete Buttigieg questioning his stance. She was not pleased. She isn't pleased with his response or any of the Democrats running for the nomination. She says they (21 million) have been faithful soldiers for the Democratic party but not anymore. They are going to have to earn their vote.
Kristen Day: Buttigieg and 2020 hopefuls, don'''t cancel 21 million pro-life Dems if you want to beat Trump | Fox News

So let me just sum this up. Trump has done more to please evangelicals than any other president in modern time. They will be out in droves to re-elect him and that is a fact. You see one thing an evangelical that studies their Bible knows, that all the men listed within were flawed but G-d used them for good.

You democrats need to listen to some of your own as they express deep concern over the democratic chances in 2020. Van Jones and James Carville are issuing deep warnings at the outlook of democrats losing the Presidential race and many on the down ballots if Trump wins.

Texas and AZ are going to be Blue states in the near future
Last special election in Texas that was supposed to demonstrate this ended up in a GOP landslide. Pelosi's traveling circus has probably set this back a decade if not a generation.

I'm not so sure about that

They're like most people and couldn't tell you more than maybe who 1 SC judge even is

Besides?

Do you think that the're is never going to be a Democrat Prez who will just reverse all that Trump has done here?

Also, nothing is going to happen on the Roe vs Wade decision

Are you ready?

In 2012, Cruz won the senate election over the Dem candidate by 15 points

In 2018, Cruz wins just by 3 points over BETTO(Dem)

This is Texas guy! Wake up!

Did you know that Hillary(Dem) got a 1/2 a million more votes than Obama got in 2012 in TEXAS?

Yes, "for the times they're a changing"
