FBI statistics confirm previous indications that crime in the U.S. declined significantly in 2023, continuing a post-pandemic trend and belying widespread perceptions that crime is rising. Murders dropped 13% in the last three months of 2023 compared with the same period the year before, according to FBI data released this week. Violent crime overall was down 6%. According to
FBI statistics, violent crime has dropped 8%, while property crime fell 6.3% to what would be its lowest level since 1961.
HOWEVER, hate crime is up! Wonder why? Maybe it has something to do with Republicans generating eight years of irrational hate for the "Kenyan Muslim," who was in Office for eight years, followed up with Trump's legitimizing alt-Right extremists, and today's Republican fascination to brand Mexican immigrants as "rapists, murderers, and terrorists." Of course, these hateful accusations fly in the face of the facts that violent crime dropped by 8% and property crime fell 6.3%.
