When even McCain had to defend Obama from what Republicans were becoming, it was time to start recognizing what was happening. And today? Trump champions all the extremism, all the nasty, and all the ignorance that the Right has become. I would be more concerned with how you feel compelled to vote for this, simply because partisanship demands it.

The least educated white Americans are growing ever more sick of progressivism. In 2020, Trump lost 19 of the 20 highest educated state voting majorities. No state majority in which 36 percent or more earned bachelor's degrees or higher voted in the majority for Trump.

The reason it rose under Trump was because of stimulus money paid out to anyone who filed a federal income return. Which was approved by both parties in congress. So there is equal blame.

Still, Lincoln never had to deal with an opposition party aided by entrenched bureaucrats bent on carrying out Resistance, endless investigation bent on destroying his allies, 2 partisan impeachments and a lawfare campaign directed by a weaponized DOJ.
