Music has a remarkable power to transcend borders, languages, and cultures, allowing us to discover a connected world through unifying melodies. "Mona Ki Ngi Xica" Song Around The World, written by and featuring the legendary Angolan artist, Bonga, is the quintessential song in representing that power, conveying a message of unity, resilience, and hope.

Bonga’s album Angola 72, which featured “Mona Ki Ngi Xica,” is one of the most influential and impactful albums recorded, as it became the soundtrack for revolutionaries fighting for independence from colonial rule. "Mona Ki Ngi Xica," which means “the child I’m leaving behind,” was written and recorded in the Netherlands by Bonga in exile and smuggled back into Portugal and Angola, thus becoming a pillar for representing significant political and social change.

Bonga’s artistry and tenacity is a prime example of the collective force of music that brings people together, bridging gaps and inspiring action towards a brighter, more harmonious future.

Reminded me of another, musical "Around the world collaboration".

As a sidenote, in this 1979 video, the wedding of UK musician Nick Lowe and Johnny Cash's step daughter Carlene Carter is captured.
Nick Lowe's band mate plays the part of chaffuer and in real life goes on to be a collaborator and close supporter of Carlene Carter's musical career.

"...married four times....
Nick Lowe (1979–1990) (Carter appears in the music video of Lowe's 1979 single "Cruel to Be Kind" with real footage of their wedding.)"
