You said All California residentsThat is just silly. Only a citizen can vote.
You said All California residentsThat is just silly. Only a citizen can vote.
They do, as it is right now, every person in every state has an equal vote for their state....
What you want, is every person in every state to have an equal voice for the federal government, which is diametrically opposite of what the Founding Fathers set up and wanted.
You said All California residents
The President is the President of the NATION - not the individual state which already has its own governor.
And as the map I provided clearly shows you, some states have three to times the voting power behind each vote as other states do. That is fundamentally unequal.
the NATION is compromised of STATES.
So each person in each state, has a vote that is equal.
States are nothing without the PEOPLE who comprise them. You cannot have a state without its PEOPLE.
The interactive map I provided clearly shows that some voters in some states have three to four times the voting power behind their vote as other voters do. That is a fact and it is undeniable to any rational person who can read and comprehend.
Then start by counting yourself as number one on the list, if you're going to try and be fair about this.
Because just saying something, doesn't make it fact. You need to supply proof of such.
Correct, you can't have a state without the people in it,
Make it simple, each state counts as one vote. so California is one EC vote, as is Michigan, as is New York, as is New Mexico.
So thirty-nine million citizens are equal to a few hundred thousand citizens just because of where their house sits? That is so ridiculous as to be utterly absurd.
Nope, you said you wanted each vote to count.
Each vote does count for their state, and no state is more powerful in votes than the other,
Just come out and say what you REALLY want to say, you want L,A, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Dallas to determine presidents.
The President of the United States of America is a NATIONAL OFFICE. It is for the entire nation.
I want every vote cast by every person on every square foot of America to count equally as every other vote.
It does, the NATION is made up of STATES. Your argument is saying that some states votes count more than others, simple way to eliminate that, each state is now 1 EC vote.
That way EACH person in EACH state gets their vote to count.
And some count more than others under the current system. Some over three times as such as others under the current system. And that is fundamentally wrong.
Each vote should count the same in electing the President of the United States with no individual vote counting for more or less than any other vote no matter where it is case. That must be the overarching principle on any system we have for the President of the United States.
Yep, I am telling you, you are right.
That the simple way to fix that is not to go to popular vote, because the NATION is made up of STATES, but you put each state to one EC vote for Presidential elections, don't change the representatives etc, that way, each vote, in each state...is worth one.....which is what you want.
You take an already unequal situation and make it hundreds of times worse.
That is NOT what I want so don't be insulting or intentionally dense.
I want a system where every voter gets to cast there vote for President and each vote counts the same weight and power as every other vote in every other location in America regardless where it is cast and every vote has the same opportunity to elect the President. That is called a popular vote when're we elect a President the same way we elect every other office in this country where the [person who finishes first wins.
You lack the foggiest clue what views are shared by the majority of the American people and you obviously do not give a **** about the states as you refuse to even accept the concept of 50 united states. To to you it's all about centralized power of the majority. You are quite blind to how much constituional power and sovereignty the states maintain as well as the wants and needs in those states. The hildabeast learned that the hard way when she lost that so called reliable blue wall in the rust belt states by in effect pissing on the type of industries that are big job providers. Your national majority rules concept of electing a president simply does not work for most Americans. And deep down I am sure that you can work out that this union of 50 united states would not have remained under a popular vote system of electing presidents. There would have been no incentive to join or remain in the union. We would be a group of small and independent countries. My positions on both issues provided are shared by a majority of the American people. By definition that is mainstream.
I do care what the people of all the states want and strongly believe every person in every state should have an equal voice.
The President of the United States of America is a NATIONAL OFFICE. It is for the entire nation.
I want every vote cast by every person on every square foot of America to count equally as every other vote.
EVERY person, in EVERY STATE to have their vote counted. ......
then get it changed with an amendment...
You lack the foggiest clue what views are shared by the majority of the American people ......
Until the Republicans end up losing the election because they won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College, it has no chance as Republicans who control smaller states will not give up their perceived advantage.
... equally in power and weight behind it with every other voter in the country with no vote counting for any more or any less than any other voters vote anywhere regardless of where they are cast.
And how did those polling results work out for you in 2016. Intelligent people do not live and die by opinion polls. I read the polls in the 2016 race, however I compared the excitement and crowd sizes of the Trump rallies versus the lack of such at the hildabeast rallies. Based on that, I doubted the polls. Same goes with Obama in the 2008 race. McCain just could not match the energy the Obama campaign had.Sure I do as I can read polling results. You apparently cannot.
you mean when hell freezes over?
that is the snowballs chance in hell of that scenario happening
but i wish you luck....keep swinging at those windmills Don Quixote
Exactly! and when you change each state's EC to 1.....it does that,
Glad we agree.
