USA was most prepared nation for a Pandemic

It doesn't matter if we are the most prepared if we fail to act. We failed to test properly, shut down airport, shut down borders, and enforce stay at home orders. We failed to throw everything into producing medical supplies our healthcare industry needed.

We were the most prepared but now we have 200,000 cases, and the government is estimating that 100,000 - 200,000 will die in the best case scenario. South Korea shut everything down immediately and tested agressively. They topped out at 7,000 active cases and less than 200 deaths.

Lots of countries.. .including mine, failed to act quickly...

We are looking at a HIGHER death rate than you guys are, per capita

Why don't you actually read the damn article? If you do you would see that it isn't exactly handing out any kudos to the USA. Supposedly the richest and most powerful nation on the face of the earth. Was only really the 'best prepared' of all the "underprepared" nations.Which included every nation. Being prepared doesn't help if you don't act, though.

The problem is and will remain the young who are the least affected are the ones spreading this pandemic. But the bottom line is almost everyone will be exposed to this pandemic at some point. Whether they die now, next month, or several months from now is the difference. My brother just got over this but is still quarantined. He is 50 and said it hit him just like the flu does. As soon as his quarantine is up he will report back to work. That is the way it should be. Those that have had it or are not at risk should go back to work while those at risk self isolate until there is a treatment or vaccine.

So did others... I live internationally ... I heard it probably FAR MORE than you average Americans... We are MUCH MORE international than the US, which sees immigrant communities isolate themselves... we have employees here from South Africa, Australia, USA, New Zealand, New Caledonia, France, Columbia, Canada, Japan, China, Tonga, Croatia, India, Sweden, and probably a few more that I am forgetting. They were ALL being told that it was not a big worry...

Canada is the 2nd biggest with an even smaller population

The two with bigger populations are India and China... both that are smaller in size

Only the United States of America is has the biggest population AND the biggest nation.

The USA is freer than Russia, India and China without a doubt and Canada has a far smaller population.
