Trump, 'via Twitter', says social media discriminates against GOP, conservative voices

President Donald Trump, addressing his 53.8 million Twitter followers, charged Saturday that social media discriminates against Republican and conservative voices and that his administration would not let that happen. "They are closing down the opinions of many people on the RIGHT, while at the same time doing nothing to others," he said on Twitter. He did not specify who "they" are. "Speaking loudly and clearly for the Trump Administration, we won’t let that happen," he said. The president did not elaborate on how the government might intervene.

Do you feel that Prager U. is a Nazi organization? How about Ted Cruz? Because they both have had shadow bans at various platforms.

You guys used to be for free speech and understood showing how stupid hate is key to defeating those speaking it, what happened?

I cannot quit laughing over the irony of Trump using Twitter, usually to go after someone, but this time to complain about social media “discrimination.”

Again, he gives SNL material for years to come.

Alex Jones deserved that. Trump promised he would not be disappointed. It's not like the Sovereign Citizens are gonna get their station back up. Twitter, Youtube, Facebook... has everyone kicked Jones to the curb? None of it is coming back. A vague reference in a Presidential tweet. Don't take that away from him.

No, he won’t. The guy is a raving nutter. Playing the victim is very much a part of his mental illness. Trump is forever stuck in arrested emotional development. He has the emotional maturity of an adolescent. He is the center of the world and cannot function beyond that level. Thus everything good in the world is because of him and everything that is not him is his nemesis.

He is not going to change. In his mind anything not of him is bad and those things must change. That he might be wrong is to him inconceivable. It is a very serious mental health issue.

Except shadow bans don't exist on Twitter and I can see Ted Cruz liking porn or Prager U scamming people all day.

It seems more of a tactic than anything. Dismissing Trumps actions as childish (or whatever) helps Trump with this specific tactical move. What Trump is doing is assuming the victim hood of his base; his base feel the same way that Trump does so therefor are not just behind Trump but have a personal relationship with trump. I believe that most of what we see of Trump is an act, a thought act to reign in his followers. Its this tactic that keeps his followers hooked no matter what Trump says or does. The longer that Trump is president the more followers that he will get. He will use propaganda like claiming that he he is getting more popular, to garner more support. If you look at authoritarian dictators (historically and present) all this is pretty obvious. Trump is playing a long game and the sooner that we realize that the better. Trying to write his behavior off as mental illness is ignorant and naive. Of course it is likely that it is both metal illness and a tactic...

There are no shadow bans. In fact, it's the complete opposite. One of the Valley's most popular CEOs, is even trying his hand at The President's own twitter game.

Whoa whoa whoa, I caught several metric crap-tons of flak for saying that Silicon Valley (and by consequence) San Francisco are both under the control of far Right libertarians. A certain "Master PO" even dedicated one of my statements to that effect as his sig line because he doesn't believe it.

Both Silicon Valley AND San Francisco elect liberal leaders but when it's time to project power, it's the far-Right that gets the deals and far-Right political ideology that gets promoted.

Silicon Valley is full of quasi-liberals who don't want to take responsibility for major F-ups because they were called/worshiped as gods in the early 2000s.

When people claim that SF and Silicon Valley are liberal, it's a joke!
The hippies are window dressing! When's the last time liberal hippies in San Francisco were actually in a position to make major financial decisions that significantly upset the plans of tech bros and developers?
You gotta be kidding me, they swat the liberals away like flies.
People can vote for them and elect them all they want but when the developers and tech bros want anything, they get it with zero fuss.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack the thread, which is about Trump whining over perceived unfairness of free market social media, it's just that I had to laugh when I read that statement and saw the headline in Post #18.
