Trump: I didn't record secret tapes of James Comey

Ok-- so explain how justice can be obstructed if not being sought?

The pursuit of justice is at the heart ... at the very center ... is the very life blood of why we have government in the first place. The highest authority tells us so as the Founders carefully explained for us the very purpose of the US Constitution and the establishment of the government that flows from it.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

That is why the Constitution was written and government established and the various powers given to branches of the government - which includes Congress and which includes the Executive Branch - both of which are conducting investigations into the matter. Justice indeed is the key to everything here and it is being pursued every second of the day in the activities of government for such is the very purpose of our nation in the first place.

Justice is always being sought. That is one of the main purposes why man has government in the first place.

Justice is always being sought after and is a motivation of government and our very civilization.

Yet again... The investigation was counterintelligence, to gather information as to what happened and how to prevent its reoccurrence. The objective was not prosecute in a court of law.
As such, legally, justice was not being sought. Thus it could not be obstructed.

You're right. He didn't. Nor did he make any threats. He just planted a seed of doubt in Comey's mind that such recordings might exist to seriously encourage Comey to tell the truth when he appeared before Congress. Which Comey probably did.

The fact that the MSM and all the extremist wackos' on social media and message boards heads exploded as they fell all over themselves to come up with more creative ways to make it sound different than it was and to come up with new conspiracy theories just made it more fun. :)

And it's clear tjhat you do not have the foggiest clue about supply side economics. It exists with or without tax cuts in any capitalist economy.

It didnt fail at all, the Left and the Media played up Comey's testimony to epic proportions and bars opened up at 9 so all the millenials could celebrate Trumps impending impeachment.

MSNBC and CNN were talking impeachment prior to Comeys testimony, and what did he testify to ?
That Trump was never under investigation, and that Trump told him to look into his associates and get back to him.

I think the Left is a little upset that Comey didnt give them exactly what they wanted, what they expected during his testimony.
The only intimidation Comey should have been feeling at the time was to not lie under oath, to not perjur himself.
Thats usually enough to get the truth out of any witness.

1.obstruction of justice is a specific legal term. Abuse of power isn't. It is absolutely true obstruction of justice could be abuse of power. But since the Flynn investigation never stopped, it's to tough to see how either could be true.
2. Both articles of impeachment specified what was being obstructed.
3. Not sure what I breezed through. We both seemed to agree that these were massive political problems as opposed to legal ones.

As you can see after Reagan cut taxes revenue as a % of GDP dropped off and it never really picked back up until Clinton raised taxes. The numbers bare out. I've done the calculations personally. Reagan averaged a lower revenue as a % of GDP than under Bill Clinton's tax increases. So did Bush. You're just.. wrong. Tax Cuts did not create booming revenues. It's a common misconception conservatives have and conservatives, almost without exception can't accept that they've been wrong this whole time.. hence the upset ego needing to denigrate an opponent with false accusations of ignorance.

Ok-- so you are using the term in its generic sense. Fair enough.
But let's understand that justice is not simply the ends, it's also the means. Justice can be served in a conviction, an aquittal, or not even investigating.

So to that end:
1. Nothing has been produced that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that Trump is guilty of a crime, and would be then subject to the appropriate penalties.
2. Nothing has been produced that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that Mr. Trump should be subject to a court proceeding to determine his guilt on the subject.
3. Nothing has been produced to that would lead a reasonable person to weigh whether criminal proceedings should proceed.
4. Nothing has been produced that would lead s reasonable person to start an investigation as to whether criminal proceedings should even exist.
Considering that Mr. Trump is an American citizen, and entitled to justice as well, where is the justice on going on a fishing expedition?
 
What you deem a "fishing expedition" is called an on-going investigation. They happen every day to determine probable cause, guilt or innocence.

So to that end,since we are not privy to all of the evidence and testimony it might be better to wait for the final result.
