Trump appears to show Sharpie-altered hurricane map

OMG, TRUMP PREDICTED THE HURRICANE WOULD HIT ALABAMA. CALL OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES.

You might need to get some more material. THis is getting pretty stupid.

predicted falsely and continues to lie about it? Why do you people always leave out the second part?

OMG, TRUMP PREDICTED THE HURRICANE WOULD HIT ALABAMA. CALL OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES.

He made a bad prediction that contradicted the NWS.
He doubled down on that bad prediction when the NWS reiterated he was wrong.
He tripled down on that bad prediction when he whipped out the sharpie.

Now, an adult would have admitted to being wrong the first time. "Sorry, my mistake. Correction: here's the latest from the NWS, people!" And right wingers who are adults would have agreed to this. "Yep, he got it wrong."

You don't have to think this is earth-shaking. I don't. But you aren't even brave enough to admit Trump was wrong. You're the one who needs new material. Every time Trump does something stupid or wrong, or says something objectively false, you just scoff at liberals for daring to point it out. If you can't even admit Trump's weather prediction was inaccurate, how would you ever in your life admit to something significant about him?

Look at you, covering for an insane fool.

My post wasn't about Trump. It was about the idiocy of these stupid Trump Threads. Whats next, he got the Superbowl wrong and denied it? OMG that would be front page news. Pretty stupid.

Yes because the Superbowl fail would clearly affect 1000's of people's lives in needing to pack up and evacuate or knowing there is no reason to do so.

How hard is it for you to admit that this isn't a failed prediction, but deceit to cover for a failed prediction?

My post has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the idiocy of posting these stupid threads likes it national news. .

Trump supporters in Alabama were torn between believing their local meteorologists or believing Trump.

obsession is a bad trait to develop and have.
not the first time a president has said or done something
incorrect won't be the last.

*yawn*

While you are yawning I suggest that you wake up to the gross irresponsibility of this President and this is one small example in a Litany of them. What this president has done which is quite unlike that of any president is to conform the map to match his tweet. It's not a matter of getting your facts not straight as people do and later apologize and correct themselves-- this President knew it was wrong and tried to mask his bad tweet by altering a map which is the kind of map men women money and machines are put into action over, not to mention that altering a National Weather Service map is illegal

Donald Trump at 8:51 AM, Sept 1 2019

"In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!"

Alabama Weather Service 9:11 AM, Sept 1 2019

"Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east. #alwx."

And as I've already pointed out, if at the time Trump made his announcement about Alabama being hit, you can bet there would be an actual map showing it at that hour for him to present. Not some days old map doctored with a flippin sharpie.

Trump supporters in Alabama were torn between believing their local meteorologists or believing Trump.

Welp, if they want to believe an uneducated man with 12,000 documented lies over the National Freaking Weather Service, let em have at it. They deserve the frustration, time and expense of an evacuation.

That possible trajectory was posted three days ago!! Had the storm not behaved as predicted later, and they very often don't as this one really hasn't--remember they first predicted it would hit Puerto Rico, and then that Florida would take a direct hit. Had the storm not turned as they later predicted and the President was not prepared for that, you would be condemning him for that.

The depths of TDS really has no limits does it.

3 days is a long time in the trajectory of a hurricane not to mention the fact that any responsible president would have got the most current information available to give the public as false data can cause people to act on it

Not to mention the more pertinent fact that every bit of criticism levied at Trump is met with a TDS post by you which reveals a lot about the caliber of your comments.

When exactly has any sitting president spoken to the American people about a forthcoming hurricane? Who and when? Be specific.

BS...on Sunday Trump was giving a briefing from FEMA's offices with the original unaltered NOAA map IN THE BRIEFING. In its unaltered state it showed the projected path, and the cone of uncertainty none which hit Alabama. That is Sunday. This is Wednesday when he holds up the same NOAA map, now altered WITH A SHARPEE.....today....Wednesday.....4 days later!

You think a president with half a brain after four days which is a long time in the trajectory of hurricanes would have had to take it upon himself to obtain a more current map. Not to mention the fact that the only reason he alter the map was to make the map conform to his false tweet. He knew it was a lie as the map told him but no he had faked the map so that his tweet wouldn't look bad which is completely stupid because people catch it and make him look more stupid . clearly this President is a dumb bunny

If you don't expect him to know everything about hurricane tracking, why are you OK with him presenting his own altered data? Shouldn't he defer to the people, who made the map in the first place, who do know about hurricane tracking, and not alter the map himself?

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between mistakes and deceit. Here, it's obviously deceit.

But Trump knows more about hurricanes than the hurricane people, and only the best hurricanes occur while he is president, way better than Obama's which are low energy hurricanes.

I don't think it went that far. But daring to contradict Trump earned one weatherman an insinuation that a flat statement of meteorological fact might be an attack on Trump:

Trump: In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

James Spann: Alabama will not be impacted by Dorian in any way.

Diann Copeland: James, based on the comments in your timeline, was it your intent to bash President Trump? Or just point out that Dorian will not enter the Gulf to impact Alabama coast and inland?

James Spann: I have zero interest in politics. Dorian will not affect Alabama in any way. That is not a political statement.

Diann Copeland backpedaling on her insinuation: Thanks for clarifying. Didn’t think you were bashing. So many people are truly in the path of a natural monster. Need to be praying and preparing for ways to help in the days, weeks, months ahead. Instead some folks(not you) only think of politics and spreading hate.

The evidence is mounting that Trump is incompetent and you won't accept that and admit it

P.s., I tried to find what comments Ms. Copeland could mean which would justify challenging Mr. Spann's meteorological integrity like that. I skimmed his feed. Saw nothing.

I didn't speak in the past tense. It was in the conditional future tense the subjunctive.
In other words let me simplify this for you so you can understand it. IF a president were to put forth a map in front of his people, he would have been responsible enough to get the most current map because three or four days in the trajectory of hurricane it's too long of a time not to have current data as men women money and machines could be called into action upon his presentation.

Would have liked to have seen that. I am in their market.

For a lot of people in Alabama, even the most remote chance that someone is speaking against Trump would give cause to having their integrity questioned.

We don’t need presidents to talk to about the weather.

We need learned scientists. Not people who can’t even spell science.

In other words, you don't care how petty and foolish he looks and you will just lie to yourself that it is normal behavior.

Have it your way though I'm pretty sure you can't back that up. TDS is 100% more unreasonable than President Trump will ever be, and it is hateful and malicious to boot. So be it.

I'm pretty sure she can indeed back it up, since the date is only every image in this thread: August 29, 2019. Today is Sept. 4, 2019. Six days later. Feel free to use a calculator if you doubt the math.
