The left even ruins Netflix ratings system.

Oh...I might not have been clear. I accept that she was targeted by trolls from whatever 4chan is. This probably happens to other people as well. I'm just saying that she just also happens to actually suck as a comedian. She's so bad people walked out of her act. However, that's the risk you run by being a public figure and entertainer.

That was 6 minutes of my life I wish I could get back.

You're right... That woman just isn't funny. It reminds me of the video I saw after the election of Wanda Sykes getting booed off the stage at a benefit in Boston.

Netflix has recently changed it's rating system from the normal 1-5 star rating to just a thumbs up and thumbs down. Then, when you're looking for something new to watch, it only gives you a % match to your likes. Now, this doesn't mean the show is any good, but is the most basic of genre matches. So I recalled a show that was previously rated at 3 stars, they changed the system to what it is now and it gave me a high fidelity match. So I decide to give it a shot and it's bad. I thought the Netflix star ratings were generally spot on and didn't over-inflate ratings. If Netflix gave something 5 stars, it was generally pretty good. Now I have no idea if the show I'm looking at is any good.

This is my own theory on this, and Netflix's official statement seems a thinly veiled excuse. I think they changed it because leftists were bitching about supposed "Reddit trolls" giving people like Amy Schumer (who is actually horribly not funny) 1 star ratings. They complained about it and now we have this crap system.

Sorry. I'm not buying that excuse. The new system makes browsing for better quality shows unmanageable. I did a live chat with customer support to ask if I could set up my account with the old system and no dice. I asked why they changed it and they didn't know, supposedly.

You have way too much time on your hands

Sounds to me like the right ruined the rating system by abusing it. As you correctly point out, the rating system is used to judge shows you'd enjoy watching, and if the show is being given negative rating out of political spite, and not because it's simply not funny, then the system isn't working as intended.

Bill Mahr was so right about Right wingers just being dicks. It really isn't about politics they just enjoy being dicks.

No. Folks are still laughing.
Some because they think she is funny, others for more vitriolic reasons.

Me? Don't pay he much mind. I have no apparent affinity for her humor or her looks. But I do think something just isn't right about her puffy face. It became puffy when she was thinner and remained as she gained weight.
Facial edema brought on by too much alcohol? Thyroid? Cushing’s?

At least I am not the only one seeing something wrong.

Every time you see something you don't like on the internet do you invent some bull**** narrative about how it's your political opponents that did it? More than a little pathetic.

Here's a quote from the Atlantic's article on the ratings change

Why Netflix Is Junking Its Star-Rating System - The Atlantic

What once was Uber is becoming Tinder

Instead of getting where you want to go now you just get ****ed

I'd leave too. You pay to see a comedy act not listen to a political rant

Yeah...that really wasn't funny. Realistically though, do political rants and comedy acts really have to be mutually exclusive? Plenty have seemed to make a thriving career off of the combination. Bill Maher and Dennis Miller are two that jump to mind right away. I don't think the issue is mixing the politics with comedy as much as it about mixing them well. To be fair to your point though, you also know what you're getting into generally with political comedians.

I agree, and would expect it, to a certain extent. IMO it went on a little too long for my taste.

Amy Schumer is a stupid bimbo.

Netflix has never had much success in telling me what shows I like anyway and I pay no attention to their suggestions.

:2usflag:

Post proof or retract. Amy Schumer's comments and Netflix's decision are two separate matters.

I'm saying they aren't so *shrug* Watcha gonna do?

Who cares about what something is rated on Netflix? I wife and I pick what we want to watch and watch it. Never pay attention to ratings.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't consider anyone else's opinion other than the people I am going to be watching the show with.

You have way too much time on your hands

You have it backwards. The new system wastes my time because I have no indication of how good the show is so I have to waste time watching something crappy instead of having an idea before hand.

I like it and it happened after seeing a few stories about people complaining about it and also hearing about it on NPR while driving. Why would they switch to a vastly inferior system?

I feel like it's pretty obvious based on literally every Netflix user's behavior. You're looking through their selection, you find something that catches your eye and you look at the rating 1-2 stars, nah, better keep moving. They started noticing large swathes of their content ended up untouched if it got bad ratings early on. Perhaps you should direct your anger towards the people who actually made the business decision and not make up some bull**** story about "waaa, the liberals!"

Eh, I don't care either way. I never really cared for the 5-star rating system in the first place. Anytime I want to find out if a particular show or movie is good or not, I just Google it.

But I do think something just isn't right about her puffy face.

The important things about a comedian's body of work.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't consider anyone else's opinion other than the people I am going to be watching the show with.

If something has a low rating, it's probably bad. It's not any different then going shopping and looking up reviews on a product before you buy it or, in this case, waste your time on it.

It's completely different than buying a product. A couple hours of watching something is not the same as dropping some money on something that you are expecting to last for awhile.

lol

I guess some folk ain't got better things to do.

I bet you if you try you can find another way of getting a review of the movie but that would mean having to try to
