The butt whacker turns out to be a youth minister and scout leader

If “the moment” called for slapping a woman’s ass, why weren’t dozens of runners slapping the reporter? Why doesn’t this happen at every race in America?

Actually, if you watch the film, a number of the runners ahead of this man made arm motions around the reporters head, etc. Fun-loving stuff. The guy saw this and followed suit.

The guy wasn't a stranger on the street either. He was part of the race the reporter was covering

That's not just silly, it's stupid-or is it your assertion that the reporter was personally acquainted with every runner? Because that would be equally stupid.

I didn't say she was acquainted with every runner. I'm saying he wasn't a total 'stranger on the street' like these people are insinuating. If this were a pre-planned sexual assault you people pretend, do you think he would have done it on live TV for the world to see?

Come on, people.

But why didn’t they slap her ass? That’s what “the moment” called for right? Why don’t runners slap reporter’s asses at every race in America?

It would seem that the moment called for waving at the reporter without touching her, so your claims of it being okay because he was “in the moment” are bull****. He was in some other moment where slapping strangers is apparently okay.

Did any of them physically slap her backside? You need to learn what the law says about assault. What you 'think' has no bearing whatsoever.

The guy got caught up and took it a step further. Totally spontaneous. Joyful.

Quote a poster who said it was a “pre-planned” assault. Assault doesn’t require pre-planning to be assault.

I don't think he'll have a wife much longer.

I don't know. It was an impulsive act trying to be somewhat humorous after the gorilla guy went buy. In poor taste and inappropriate especially for a minister or whatever he is. I think lying about it was worse but I also think its becoming a bit over blown. Besides the religious overlook quite a bit. Jim Bakker, the minister in Colorado who was having gay sex while preaching against it. And on and on..

A step further from waving at a stranger is slapping them on the ass? In what universe?

No, you "come on". You lost this argument pages ago. This was an assault ACCORDING TO THE LAW. That you happen to disagree with the law doesn't make his actions any less illegal.

Tell you what, get yourself 'caught up', slap a total stranger on the ass and see how 'joyful' jail feels. You might gain a little more respect for the law after a session with 300lb 'Bubba' in your comfy cell.

Just goes to show how hypocritical religious cultists are. Overblown or not (depending on one's opinion), the guy broke the law.

Did conservatives say anything about Weinstein or Cosby? Or are there no conservatives in Hollywood?

Some here would have us believe there were no conservatives in California even though Nunes the Conspiracy Theorist is from there along with several others.

Not all the guys were teammates. Some were trying to make the team and later got cut.

Mashie can split hairs too.

They were strangers not playing a game together, not trying out for a team together, not even running a race together.

Making motions around her head is not slapping her on the butt. IF he was following suit he would have made bunny ears behind her head as he was passing.
Head and butt are not the same area.
Making motions and slapping are not the same actions.

That part was spot on.

But then you couldnt help yourself but allow your hatred and bigotry rise up.

"Besides the religious overlook quite a bit. Jim Bakker, the minister in Colorado who was having gay sex while preaching against it. And on and on."

Come to think of it, that kind of makes you a lot like the runner that slapped the reporter on the ass.

Several posts have excused the man. "He was caught up in the moment" "it's ok in jovial situations" "she had on a raincoat so it doesn't matter"

The connection I was making is that womens concerns and reports of such issues are nearly always downplayed while the man is excused. Look at the Brock Turner case, "she was drunk, she was wearing a tight dress, he didn't know she was passed out, he's a good boy and an athlete" He served 3 months, she got called every name in the book for being a victim.
Yes, the reporter case is not rape, but it is still the same old song and dance. "She should not be overacting, he was just playing a prank and didn't mean it."

As for his punishment, maybe a few days in jail and an apology. maybe community service. But that is not my decision.

imo, your example comparison is apple to oranges. Not the same.

You are correct the "punishment" is not our decision.

We will most likely agree to disagree on this particular event. Have a good one.

Seeing Cons in this thread reminds of another debate I was in on another site not too long ago. A guy got into an argument with another guy in a parking lot and was shoved. Cons said that the shove made him the victim of an assault an justified that guy pulling out a gun and shooting the guy who shoved him dead even after the guy backed away on seeing the gun.

I wonder if Conservatives would say the reporter in this thread would have been justified in pulling out a gun and shooting dead the man who assaulted her? I’d bet no. Then again, the shooter in the first incident was a white man and the shover a black man, while in case the runner was a white man and the victim of his assault a women. We know in advance which side Conservatives are going to come down on without hearing them speak.

It's bigotry to point out right-wing conservative religious hypocrisy? That's a new one; please explain how you reached your conclusion.

Yes, the woman should know her place, keep quiet and stay submissively subservient. How dare she!

Dislike for sure but not hatred. As to bigotry that is your made up bull****. Besides I dislike everyone equally. No it doesn't kind of make me a lot like the hypocrite who slapped a reporters ass on camera. You just don't like me commenting on the religiously challenged. Tough!
