OLC determines that Trump's tax returns DO NOT have to be disclosed

It looks like a forgery. Obama should have it forensically examined to prove it is not a forgery if it really is not a forgery in spite of what government investigators have suggested.

Do not edit my posts again or I will report it

Would it be required that the president's returns be released? If so, that's an eligibility requirement in addition to those in Article II. There is no good reason for the president's tax returns to be a public record. Heck, there is no good reason for ANYONE's tax returns to be a public record.

The president already has to produce a detailed financial disclosure every year. Here's his for 2018 - http://pfds.opensecrets.org/N00023864_2018.pdf - Why is that disclosure not sufficient?

Because he promised his tax returns.

Was he lying?

I don't need to see his certificate to know he is not a god, and since nobody claims he was not born in America I see no urgency to see his documentation.

He is your god?

Explains everything

Well is does explain your inability to read or comprehend his post.

Because he promised his tax returns.

Was he lying?

Looks like the only one here lying is you. You can't provide the evidence of where Trump said that so we all must assume you are just blabbing out Liberal talking points of which you have no understanding or comprehension. If you had that evidence you would have posted it instead of all the childish banter.

So whats your next post going to be, I know you are but what am I.

So you deny that trump said he would release his returns after they are done being audited???

Nope, I was just trying to get you to admit it. Was that so hard? Why all the worthless retorts?

Hahaha. You know trump said it which is why you refuse to deny it here.

I love it

And just for giggles, What do you believe is in his tax return that is so important? Just curious

I want him to keep his word. He lied....and that is fine with you

His promise to release his taxes didn't play a part in my vote, but it's certainly something I take issue with now because he stood in front of the country (and the world) and said he would release them. So I don't give two rats behinds if his taxes are sterile clean or they are a disaster. He lied over and over with his promises and has zero credibility in my eyes.

Oh then you must really think Obama is a horse's ass for all the lies he told. Notably that if you like your doctor and if you like your plan you can keep it.

Good to know you're not just another partisan hack.

I want him to keep his word. He lied....and that is fine with you

I really don't understand the evasiveness. Is it some secret you need to keep? You just want them because he said he would provide them after audit? You have to have some reason why its so important to you. If its just because he said so you will never be satisfied with any Presidential candidate.

Really, whats the beef? Not trying to be snarky, just having a conversation.

I want him to keep his word. I wont even look at them. Let him keep his word.

Is it important that he keep his word?

By what mechanism does this Public Square Impeachment actually "remove A Duly Elected POTUS from office"?

The ballot box?

Or what exactly?

You make the Public Square Impeachment sound not at all like impeachment at all.
You make it sound like appealing to the Electorate.

I find it hard to fault someone for an appeal to the Electorate. [ ymmv ]
The Electorate's consent is the ultimate source of government authority after all.

It seems bit extra and wholly unnecessary to bring up impeachment when you're really just talking about attempts to sway voters.

1. By no mechanism besides The Constitutional process using The Two Houses of Congress based on high crimes and misdemeanors can A Duly Elected POTUS actually be removed from office.

The Two Houses of Congress

The Two Houses of Congress. Congress is divided into two chambers, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate is sometimes called the upper chamber and the House the lower chamber because the Founders thought that different sorts of people would be elected to these two bodies.

My Public Square Impeachment 'idea" could never actually remove a Duly Elected POTUS.

What I was describing was how some of the Duly Elected Members mainly from the lower house wanted to remove A Duly Elected Potus from office and have failed to accomplish that goal using various poliitcal tactics.

Notice I mentioned poll information as one of the many reasons I thought The lower House of Congress presently is not using the In House Impeachment option which needs upper House participation.

2. The ballot box is where the poll information comes into play... one of the why's > the lower House Impeachment process among other reasons like needing the upper House to make the final determination is not in play presently.

Speaking of the ballot box. The ballot box is how Trump became the Duly Elected 45th POTUS.

What I see is some of The Duly Elected House Members haven't accepted Our Constitutional Process that has been used for years to Elect Our Presidents and are having a major problem with the ballot box putting Trump into office and has resulted in their need to circumvent the ballot box since the day Trump took office.

3. Not exactly but *Simply, intent for seeking Trumps tax returns.

4. You are correct it's not a real impeachment. The Real Impeachment Process is currently on the back burner by choice.

5. Yes, that is exactly what is happening appealing to the Electorate.

6. I agree.

7. *Yes, but that is not what I was talking about.

I was talking about their intent for wanting Trump's tax returns.

Intent being (imho) a political advantage for the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election hoping to find some dirt that can be used in the Public Square.

And,(imho) not the lofty good intentions they speak about in the Public Square being their true reasons for wanting his tax returns.

The Real Impeachment Process is about crimes while the POTUS is in office not before he was in office.

The ballot box decided the before he was in office issue.

The fake Public Square Impeachment idea opens the door for using a business man's tax returns as political fodder to help the potential Trump opposition Candidate.

Which in my opinion is being disguised as "legitimate lower House oversight".

I was simply expressing my reasons for my opinion concerning the tax return debate.

My personal opinion is that all of the negative political "by any means necessary" tactics being used by Trump's opposition will backfire.

Bottom Line: The ballet box will speak again in 2020.

Roseann:)

I do sometimes.
Especially, if I have been making a bunch of posts in a day.
My apologies.

I've kinda forgotten the thread of the argument and am currently uninterested.
So, more apologies from me.
It's nothing personal at all.
It's just this whole process is voluntary. So, I only do what I feel like.

No problem:)

I enjoy a challenge. You actually provide a challenge via debate points and not just talking points.

No need to apologize. I didn't take it personal. Because you didn't use any personal innuendo.

No problem.

The intent is to have him live up to his word.

He said he would turn over his tax returns.

Trump lied

You don't get it. I don't care about tax returns. I never used them to determine who I would vote for.

How often after reading a Candidate tax return did it change your vote?

Boo Hoo, your talking like all Candidates prior to Trump running for office have never made campaign promises that they didn't keep after getting into office.

There have been Candidates prior to Trump that broke campaign promises (lied) that have been re-elected.

If, we were going to call every Representative that didn't keep a campaign promise a liar... what do you think the number count for those liars would be?

If, that is an important issue for you then don't vote for Trump in 2020.

He lied. It would be very easy for him to keep this promise. It costs nothing. It is just a flat out lie.

He may decide anything in the future. He could become a liberal .....again. His word means nothing.

And you are ok with that
