Moms for Liberty Has a Nudity Problem

lol.. ok, buddy. (y)

But, hey, thanks for stopping by. You always contribute so much. :)
Aww, its always funny when youve got nothing to say, which is all the time.

those links are far right wing sources. The last one is asking for opinions.

Prove it didnt happen.

I truly have to wonder who is feeding you this misinformation. From where do you get your news about our politics?
He's a lib, they revel in false info.

Thanks! I love irony!
LOL you love projection too since you do it all the time! :ROFLMAO:

The passages I'm talking absolutely stimulate erotic feelings. I mean -- unless you dislike or aren't interested in sex, I guess.
Lol... my goodness, am i blushing? 😅

Look, I'm not arguing that this stuff isn't provocative in any number of... ways.. lol But what the hell isn't at that age? And, again, age is definitely relevant.

The difference between this and pornography is that the point of porn is the sexual content, while in a novel it just happens to be part of a story. The important word is "intended". The intention of porn is solely to get you off. A fictional story is different, with or without sexual content. The point is the story, not the sex.
I agree that sexual content in books should be age appropriate.

It's not just books labeled "erotica" that give you all of the sexy feelings. Perhaps read one of the books I mentioned and try not to get turned on? ;) I just finished Fourth Wing. I certainly wouldn't want to be reading some parts of that in public.
Lol... OK, so, what's wrong with that? Like, do you think that starting around 12, kids won't find ways to "get turned on"? Do you think that banning a few books is going to stop them from finding something to rub one out to? Especially in the age of cell phones? At least they're reading... lol
Of course. They take things too far. There is content that is age appropriate and content that isn't. Goblin butts, kids' butts -- perfectly fine. Two mommies, two daddies - perfectly fine. A queer character or two - perfectly fine. Several pages describing sexual activities in very explicit detail? Not fine for middle school, for sure. Some aren't even appropriate for high school, IMO (like the ones with incest, adult/minor sexual relationship, violent sexual relationships)
I mean, i think we both said that age ratings should be adhered to and enforced by library and retail staff. That's the solution, and taking that approach, without all the other drama and nonsense, would push the cause a lot farther because there's nothing in this last paragraph that's unreasonable.

It's sexually stimulating at any age.

Like I said, any novel can contain erotic or pornographic passages. It doesn't have to be the intent of the entire book to be pornographic. You could have a pornographic scene in a movie too, but that doesn't mean the movie genre would then be porn.

Ah. So as long as the very sexually explicit thing is in a book, it doesn't really matter how explicit it is?

Are you going to read any?

That seems to conflict with what you just said -- "So what? At least they're reading."

That's the thing! you have to offer credible links. you right-wingers/GQP'rs need to stop posting shit sources.

I dont go to a plumber looking for medical advice.

No, you would have a sex scene.

I'm over the definitions debate, i win, said the dictionary... lol Love ya, but stop. Watch 50 shades of grey, then watch a step sister video on pornhub. Read Clan of the Cave Bear, then read Sally Gets a Spanking. If you cannot understand the difference, well, agree to disagree, i guess.

No, it doesn't. So long as it is legal and the age rating is adhered to. Same as with video, video games, art, whatever. Saying anything else would mean i feel entitled to dictate my morality to everyone else, and I'm just not that asshole.
Are you going to read any?
Not on my to do list, i prefer Stephen King.

It was a meant to be a bit of a chuckle, while acknowledging the impotence (forgive the word choice) of banning and prohibitions in general. My last paragraph was more sincere.

Also, i didn't say "so what"... not the end of the world, but putting quotes around something someone didn't say is a little cringe.

"Prove it didn't happen" is a great way of knowing who not to take seriously.

Why would Moms for Liberty worry about their kids seeing a cartoon butt in a book? They let their kids watch them support the biggest ass any of us will every see.

Not all sex scenes are created equal.

It's very odd that you have such a strong opinion on books you've never even heard of before yesterday. And you refuse to even read them to gain any sort of insight into the discussion.
Take that stepsister video on PornHub and put every movement, kiss, suck, lick, thrust in writing and you'll have the kind of sexual passages in the books being discussed here.

I apologize for putting "so what" in quotes.

I'm glad you at least agree that 18+ books like Gender Queer and Credence shouldn't be available for minors to check out in school or classroom libraries. Some would say that puts you in the "banned book" crowd.

I would suggest no sex scene is created equal, that would be plagiarism.

I don't have a strong opinion about those books, i have a strong opinion regarding forced morality, and because I'm a principled individual, i don't pick and choose when i believe something and when i don't. I guess i don't like being a hypocrite. The law is good enough for the general population, i can manage my own kid and have no desire to manage anyone else's.

You're good.

Some are dumb. Dumb is not limited to one side or the other.

Speaking of dumb, if these moms tried to be a little smart in their messaging and made their movement about enforcing existing age requirements and not about banning stuff, they'd get a lot more traction. To ask why they insist on this angle would be the same as asking why assholes act like assholes, i admit, but damn they shoot themselves in the foot in the credibility department. I would like to think that they'd get way more support if they simply refrained from being, well, assholes.

The world is tired of assholes, Josie, pushing back against them is a reflex at this point. I support the adherence to age ratings and librarians doing their jobs. I do not support assholes. That's kind of the long and the short of it.

Oh, and i definitely support naked goblin bums. Those are fun. And definitely not pornography. ;)

Weird you’re avoiding the book mentioned in the OP - ‘In the Night Kitchen’, which is the kind of stuff this group wants to ban.

Wrong. You dont get to decide whats credible or not. A news report was linked and reported. You got another link that disproves it? Then show it.

Yes, yes we know you love criminals and hate women. No need to keep repeating it.

stop posting shit links and people will take you more serious.

if it's a legit story, post it from a credible source in the first place. No one but you conservatives read those right-wing tabloid blogs

Your moronic shoot the messenger fallacy is a fail. You hate facts and free speech.

And yet, despite this hard hitting, intellectual powerhouse of a rebuttal, garbage sources continue to be rejected because they're garbage. That's gotta be a little frustrating for the pro-garbage sources crowd.
