No sweep for the Astros. Tampa Bay Rays showed spunk today and cruised to 10 - 3 victory!
No one I can think of has told me to expect the Rays to get past the Astros. Game 4 tomorrow 4:15 at Tampa Bay.
Yankees looking really good going into the ALCS. Astros and Ray's tearing each other up.
So I got a notification on my phone that the Brave vs. Cards game started. I was a little busy so I thought I could miss an inning or 2.
I turn it on at 5:30 pm, about 30 mins. after the game started.. And it's 10-0!!!! WHAT???
The 5 games series really blow. Not that I am pulling for the braves, I'm not. I don't like them. But damn. Their year, their series, all down the tubes in 1 inning.
Yankees most likely would sweep the Nationals or Cardinals.
Two extremely flawed teams. Nationals best relief pitcher would have trouble making the yankees roster.
This is baseball. There is no such thing as a series where one team is more likely to sweep another team than not.
Yanks would be 60-40 favorites at most against the Nats or my beloved Cardinals.

...a 10-run inning
Twins hit more hrs this season than any team in baseball history. Yankees dominated them.
Twins are a better team than the nats and cards.
Remember, the yankees have a legit mvp candidate in DJ Leamethiu, and he was their utility infielder going into the season.
Luke Voit who is a good hitting 1b couldn't even get 1 ab in the playoffs.
How the hell did the Dodgers lose this series?
1 think I've noticed, especially in the NL playoffs is the teams are doing EVERYTHING they can to stay away from using their bullpens. It's amazing really.
I'm guessing Roberts had more confidence in Kershaw than he did in his BP. Now with 20/20 hindsight it's easy to criticize him, especially given Kershaw's failures in the past postseasons... But after seeing 100+ NL games this year I've seen a LOT of really bad BP's in the NL. Not a single team in the NL East that had a good BP.
But this year will probably cost Roberts his job, and there will be a long line of people wanting that job. Manager of the Dodgers? 1 of the top jobs in all of sports.
back to back WS, best record in the NL this year. Hmm...where do I apply?![]()
Yeah. If he gets canned the new manager won't be starting out with a tight fisted 'Miami Marlin rebuilding' type situation.
Good luck to the Nats. I hope they take it all.
