Major League Baseball 2017

How bad would it be if the Dodgers get eliminated in their first playoff series this year? Would that be the biggest choke of all time? I can't think of a bigger choke.

Biggest of all time? No way.

The Mariners won 116 games in 2001, and they got beat in the playoffs.

The Cubs hold the best W-L record ever w/ 116 wins in 1906, but lost the World Series to some loser team.

But I'm pretty confident the Cubs can best the Dodgers again in the NLCS. They're just heating up in time for the playoffs.

Biggest playoff choke was 2004. Yanks had a 3-0 lead, and lost. 1st and only time in MLB a team lost a 3-0 lead.

But yeah, considering the Dodgers payroll, and the year they've had so far.. They got to at least make it to the WS.

Yankees given 6 runs by home plate hack Holbrook. Gotta have them in the playoffs. That's why Vegas has a book on each home plate umpire ...

Based on what I saw in Milwaukee this past Thursday through Saturday, and now today with the Brewers losing to the Reds, they're definitely using LH reliever Hader too much ...

JD Martinez 4 HR game and D'backs rack up 11th straight win. Talk about getting hot!

Being reported here in Toronto that the Red Sox, and confirmed by their manager John Farrell, have been cheating, stealing signs of opposing pitchers using electronic devices. Farrell claims the Yankees are doing the same thing although no confirmation at that end.

Not sure if this means anything at all, but Commissioner Manfred is in Boston for the current series so will be interesting to see what MLB thinks about this. I remember it was a big stink several years ago when a team, can't remember which, accused the Blue Jays of having someone out in the center field seats stealing signs and relaying them to the dugout. Was never proven and Jays management denied the charge, but seems that might have given others ideas.

Is this cheating? Should teams be punished for trying to use electronics to get an edge?

They should forfeit those wins.

It's from the NY Times... Fake news. LOL

Not sure why stealing signs is a problem, but using electronic devices to steal signs is against the rules. So if there's any truth to this story, it will be interesting to see how MLB reacts.

13 straight for my Dbacks, 2 sweeps of the Dodgers, their lead slips to 10.5 games.

Not that that I'm expecting the Snakes to catch 'em, but this is so good for a wild card spot.

Oh, and the Rockies lost again.

Would be impressive if not for the fact that the Dodgers also lost a series to the Padres. Good idea to get all your wins in Sept tho. Winning is for October.

Indians rocking a 14 game winning streak. Good time to get hot.

Davies or Nelson from the Brewers will be tough for AZ in a 1-game series; or a Cardinal pitcher ...

Its embarrassing to even be in a Wild Card game. One hit, one error, one bad inning by a pitcher. Its all it takes.

As scary as they are for this NL fan, good to see them get this Dodgeritis out of their system.

Their road to the WS is certainly uncertain, as is the Dodger road ...
