LOL Beto!

It's not a mother's job to raise children. For many generations in the past it was seen as just the women's job, but it ain't in the 1950's anymore. It is the parents job to raise their children. Make a sexist distinction is just that--sexist. I was raised by both my parents evenly, and that's the case for plenty of other people out there. Now, looking at Beto's statement itself, he's probably trying to give her more of the credit, which is understandable. Beto's not saying a woman's job is to raise the kids--that's you saying that. And while I agree with the sentiment of the professor's argument, I don't really think it applies to Beto here in this situation. It was a harmless comment at best, IMHO. However, you clearly did strawman her. The prof. did not say that it was not the role of a mother to raise her children at all, she's saying the idea of "suggest that it's a mom's job to raise kids, and having that very unequal division of labor has disastrous consequences for women both at home and in the workforce." What you are saying that she said, is not what she said at all.

I have been told you cant say its a parent job anymore either. I was told in no uncertain terms (in real life) that nowadays many choose to have children on their own and they dont need another to help them raise the child. They are doing it on their own. One has to be very careful these days I suppose.

Real men do not drink anything in a girly glass.

Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, and I all agree, real men drink out whatever they damn well please. :fueltofir: cool:

Particularly when a candidate is out of tune with his party. As a supposed centrist dear Beto will be a target for the entire far left, who now prevail in the Dem party.

Well unfortunately that appears to be happening. MSNBC spent over 15 minutes discussing the "white male privilege" that both Biden and Beto have. Saying that they get all the attention and not the females running. Warren said something similar last week when she said how she laid out her entire platform and Beto still hasnt. She said its a double standard.

He needs to stop apologizing thats his biggest issue. Just be who he is. People liked it. Dont pander to the extremes, they wont vote for you anyway.

He lacks any REAL BACKBONE on ANY ISSUE. He's a hologram with a skateboard.

So Beto in today’s Democratic Party has to apologize for the crime of his wife being a mother who actually loves their children

So his apology for saying his wife raised their kids is because the Democrats have been taken over by radicals, look at this sample from the reporting
No, his apology is because if he was a truly loving father who actually loved his children AND his wife he wouldn't help her sometimes he'd help her as much as possible.

OP =

"I don't understand subtleties of language. Please agree with me that those who don't see stuff are best. And men (which just so happens to include me) are victims."

Let us all cry with the OP about the victimhood of men and the horrible oppression enacted against those who merely, in free will, choose to be stupid.

No, it's not the mother's job to raise her children, it is the parents job. If O'Rourke's wife does take a more focused role in their parenting I see nothing wrong with him acknowledging and appreciating that.

Yeah, Im not getting what all the outrage is about or why he is apologizing. His comment was more self-deprecating than an insult to his wife. He was basically saying that she was home doing the important work of raising the kids while he was out running around making speeches and doing interviews. Frankly, his grovelling over this makes him look like a *****.

This I can forgive. Beto riding a skateboard onstage to prove he's kewl and dope is something I can't. Grey haired guy wearing penny loafers riding a skateboard is cringe as ****.

Hello man from the 1950s, it is the responsibility of both parents to raise the children. Perhaps in different seasons, one person makes more of an income amd the other assists more, but there is no universal manual from god (sorry Bible) that mandates that women are alone reaponsible for child rearing.

This is also old news and Beto still beats Trump in the polls right now.
Why isn't it the mothers sole responsibility to raise her children when we made it her sole responsibility if those children are ever born?

I agree. I'm in agreement with the professor that both parents should be taking an active role in raising their kids, but I highly doubt Beto was implying, "WomenZ jerbs are to be takin care of da keeeeeds!" It's much ado about nothing.

Agreed. Like pretty much everything else people squawk about these days. Righteous fury and thunder, signifying absolutely nothing, flailing away in vain at the universe.

This bs nada taco is like the fake news that conservatives were outraged that AOC danced while in college. There are no conservatives left in the world who seriously care about either topic.

LOL! ....^^^

Would love for sweaty "Beto" to be the chosen one for the Democrat (Leftist) party....to go against Mr Trump....should be fun for "all" Americans to see....Heck...even crazy Bernie would make it interesting and fun to watch....:)

Beto can run on...more taxes... Socialism...open borders aborting babies and giving more money to Iran and NK (maybe they will leave us alone if we pay them and remain submissive)

If you are a centrist or moderate sure. Problem is these days the extremes are fighting like mad to take control. They are painting the majority of candidates as bad. Some are playing into it. Biden never should have said "I am the most progressive candidate ever." He should have said he was a liberal and a democrat and proud of it. Now he has given the extremes something to laugh at and use it for memes.
Be to is neither centrist or moderate. He is far left of center.

Delusional ravings.

Beeto is just doing his duty as a high ranking member of Caucasians Reject Anglo Privilege and spreading the C.R.A.P. message every chance he gets.

Actuallly that’s exactly what she said. You cannot deny the clear definition of words In the English language.
There is nothing inherently wrong with unequal division of labor in the home and workforce because in most cases the two parties are not equal. And the majority self select. Women generally make less money and do more in the home because they choose to do so and men make more and spend less time in the household because they choose to do so. Something feminists cant stand and so they lie and claim there’s no differences between men and women.

And what’s wrong with the 1950s? Crime was low, employment was near full, people lived in close knit communities, Church attendance was near 70%. The counter culture, loss of a generation to drugs, the Vietnam war, etc hasn’t occurred yet. We should be mourning the loss of that lifestyle and trying to return to it

Sure, but in most cases his primary role is to provide for the family. Since in most cases his income potential and willingness to sacrifice is greater.

The roles are not equal, they are complementary
Depends on how you look at it
5+5=10
6+4=10
5+5=6+4=4+6=10
Different but equal

And he has by focusing on his career.

Why does the right wing care since they are not voting for O'Rourke anyway? They must really fear him.

They are scared to death of him, and their pea brains cannot figure out that they are giving him free PR and more National recognition. We shall see who laughs last.......

Anytime you hear whining, snorting, harumphing, farting or any other noises about any liberal candidate from anyone on the Right, IT IS FEAR.
What possible other motivation could there be, trying to be helpful??? :lamo

Thank you once again, for being a perfect reverse barometer, you righties.
