Former FBI attorney Lisa Page will not appear for a private interview with two House committees despite being subpoenaed, her attorney told Fox News Tuesday.




In a statement, Amy Jeffress said her client did not have enough time to prepare and had asked the the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform Committees to schedule another date.

Just send US Marshalls to arrest her ass. She needs to fess up about how she and her cohort were going to stop Trump from becoming president.
 
How long does it take to prepare for "on the advice of council, I will not answer that question" or "I will exercise my 5A right and not comment on that matter"? After all, Lisa Page is a lawyer.
 
How long does it take to prepare to tell the truth ??
 
What is the likely/appropriate response to her ignoring the subpoena?

Yep, and it could be followed by a fine and/or jail, depending on circumstances. Unless congress gets tough with some of these people, such behavior is likely to continue. It appears they have a lot to hide.

Unfortunately, it seems the House committees have little appetite or recourse to enforce their subpoenas, to the point it becomes a political sham. We saw this with the Trump administration thumbing its noise at the committees, often not even answering questions when they showed up - if they did show.

Nothing.

There is a unique method of enforcement using the Sargent at Arms, but as a practical matter it hasn't happened, or at least it hasn't happened in modern times for most of the last century.

Unfortunately, as we saw with the Trump administration thumbing their noses at the House subpoenas and questioning, these committee testimony sessions have for the most part become political grandstanding.

If the Dems get the House, which I believe is likely, be prepared for this type of activity (committees, investigations, subpoenas, grandstanding) to take-off - but in the other partisan direction.

In my experience, right here among forum posters, the ones who support Hillary are incapable of telling the truth. I'd expect Lisa Page knows she can't tell the truth, she never will. Like Hillary's supporters here, she'll either lie or not answer the question
 
Have Lisa Page and Peter Strzok sit next to each other and answer the questions. That would be a made for TV special.

They can, but that would be wildly premature.

The reality here is that they know this is BS, pure political theater, and she obviously knows it's BS, and she wants to put it off as long as she can.

This shows us that they are guilty of doing this for Hillary Clinton or trying too. American said it but, I don’t think that Congress can act as a court and, send a warrant for her. Ms. Page is refuse to give her testimony right. There's your answer that she had been involved with this whole thing. I don't know how Congress has the power to do anything

I agree, if it's for the partisan obstructionists in the House, giving them the finger seems reasonable.

If they were as credible as the Senate on this matter, perhaps it would be a different story, but as Chomsky said, the House has exposed itself with their absurd conclusions, unwillingness to seriously question people they felt were on their side, Nune's constant partisan games, etc.

Heck, Mueller hasn't even subpoenaed his star witness after a year, but man the house is after Lisa Page for an email!! Chasing after a women about emails again for partisan reasons...where have I seen this broken record before.

I know this happened with the Clinton email investigation where her people just said, "screw you" when subpoenaed to appear.
How does one do this and not affect a bench warrant?

I'm pretty tired of "this type of activity."

The Bush White House ignored subpoenas, as did the Obama admin.
 
Page has known for months that the committees wanted to talk to her and in the eleventh hour she's not prepared? How much preparedness does it take to tell the truth?

There have been many in the Senate Judiciary that have been requested to appear and were no shows or took the Fifth. Grassley requested Comey and Lynch to appear last month and they both declined. Comey's atty replied and said Comey was out of the country. But Grassley seen him in Iowa. He then wanted to subpoena Lynch and Comey but there is a rule in the Senate Judiciary Committee that requires the Chairman, Grassley and the ranking Democrat Feinstein to agree to subpoena. Feinstein blocked them .

The House doesn't operate under such a rule. Their list of people being subpoenaed is extensive.


And they want these hearings in public. Strzok has been subpoenaed and has agreed to appear tomorrow in a public hearing. Let's see if he shows.

And if the Democrats get control of the House this November, you will get to see the Trump White House ignore the House's subpoenas.
