Yeah, I hear you.I'm pretty tired of "this type of activity."
The Bush White House ignored subpoenas, as did the Obama admin.
I'm torn on the lack of enforcement, though. Firstly, subpoenas should obviously be fully enforceable. However, if the committees are obstructing or playing partisan politics, do we really want them to have that power to cause havoc & destroy lives?
I see subpoena power (and enforcement) as a double-edged sword, dependent upon who's wielding it.
In fact, this may be why neither party enforces their subpoenas in modern times. They may fear crossing the threshold of unleashing a powerful tool that can cause great damage when used in a politically partisan manor. So they lay-back, fearing potential mutual destruction.
