Line crossed: Three SDNY chiefs say Trump can be indicted

I love you guys. Y'all needed a special prosecutor to sort out all the Trump/Russia coordination that manipulated a presidential election and was a distinct and dire threat to our national security but, now, it never really mattered to begin with. Normally I'd be a little embarrassed for all of you but, frankly, you people have been such ****s for the past couple of years that I'm finding even that level of compassion to be hard to find.

Who is "you guys" who you love? I didn't need a special prosecutor. I think maybe you think I'm Rod Rosenstein? Hate to disappoint you, but I'm not.

Now, let's talk about me. I'm not Rosenstein, and I'm not sure why you'd be embarrassed for me. What did I do that you'd be embarrassed about? I didn't vote for Trump if that's what you think. I am way too smart for that. Unlike Trump, I never voted for or supported the Clintons either. I did trip in the restaurant last night. Is that why you're embarrassed for me? I appreciate it. It was embarrassing.

Three guys who are no longer in any government office have nothing but their opinion. Like assholes, everyone has one. Some even stink.

But keep in mind that the SDNY follows the orders of the DOJ AG. That would be Barr. That means it's HIS opinion that matters.

Stop making so much sense. Trump resisters don't like it.

I've been watching MSNBC this morning and there is a crime. The crime is Trump. There really need be no other crime. Trump being Trump is enough of a crime.

You're brave for watching them pedal their lies. ;)

Peddle.

Pedals are on bicycles and flowers.

What lies was MSNBC "pedaling" this morning. I had MSNBC on briefly, and I heard the host saying that Mueller's report was delivered to Barr. Was that a lie?

Actually, sit back and laugh.
:2rofll:
It's much better for one's health.
Trump's golfing while his haters are wishing bad things happen.
Can you imagine this? People hoping the POTUS committed high crimes and misdemeanors?

I am doing the happy dance because this was all collusion delusion.
Let his resisters spin themselves into the ground wishing, cheering and hoping for a constitutional crisis all the way up until 2020.
It guarantees the president a second term, and possibly winning back both the house and the senate.
All this divisiveness put in place by political elites won't age well for them.

Trump is golfing while this country is experiencing a national emergency? That doesn't sound very responsible.

By the way, the Republicans already control the Senate. They don't have to win it back.

Oh the horrors! I wrote pedals instead of peddles. Upset much over collusion-delusion, no indictments?
I don't watch MSNBC. You should ask Lutherf.
But I would imagine their intent goes something like this....“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”

What collusion delusion? Were you one of the people who felt that Trump colluded with Russia? I wasn't. My posts on here for the last 2 years prove that.

You haven't said what lies MSNBC was peddling this morning. You seem to know what they said. I can't ask Luther about what you posted.

From the article excerpt:
"One prosecutor references a potential campaign finance case against President Trump as not serious enough, in his view, to charge but agreed with the other that a bribe or a more serious crime, could be."

From my POV, a felony or a misdemeanor is sufficient to charge and prosecute anyone, POTUS or not. The Constitution says "high crimes and misdemeanors." That means infractions of either degree, and those in-between, is sufficient to impeach.

Now Congress and the DoJ can:
  • Charge a POTUS and have him, while he's POTUS, answer the charge in court, or
  • Congress can remove the POTUS from office so the DoJ can in turn, charge him so he can answer the charge in court.
I prefer the former approach to handling "lesser" presidential offenses; however, the notion that a sitting POTUS cannot be charged, combined with practical reality that -- even in the face of strong evidence, such as extant evidence that the current POTUS was co-conspirator in an actus reus for which a non-POTUS is going to jail or such as that showing a former POTUS perjured himself -- a POTUS is almost certain not to be impeached so he can answer the charges, thus giving a POTUS what amounts to a "stay out of jail free" card, well, that is absolutely unacceptable to me. In the specific circumstance of Trump, the unconscionability of that is exacerbated by his being a member of the uberrich who already "get away" with more than their fair share of stuff to begin with....And his reprobate character compounds the insult and injury.

If I were Trump, I wouldn't be dancing in the end zone just yet,

And to those who say dems "hopes have been dashed", I say this: Repubs love to say what dems want, and what they say you can bet it's framed in a way that serves their agenda.

However, truth be told ( although repubs are not into the truth) but truth be told:

Dems are focused on Trump's crimes, and 'collusion' etc, is only part of it. In fact, I've listened to many
in the media state this.

There are many investigations into Trump's business dealings, tax fraud, bank fraud, money laundering etc.

On those, the verdict is far from being in.

So, one down, 16 to go.

The irony of the part in bold, as it's not the truth by any stretch of the word. But here, let me help you out. Truth be told, the Dems will grasp at anything to overturn the results of the 2016 election. They thought that they had something with Russian collusion. They rode that horse until it died, they beat it incessantly, tried some necromancy spells to resurrect the dead horse to ride it some more, and then beat it some more.

When it became apparent that the necrotic horse of Russian collusion was dead for good, they started grasping for anything else they could, be it obstruction of justice, emoluments clause, campaign finance violations, things from years ago....anything and everything, like a drowning man grabbing at anything to keep them from going under.

That is the truth.

It's only bad if it happens to former reality TV game show hosts. He's awesome, you know. He's going to stop the brown people from stealing his fan base's blueberry picking jobs.

If someone told me about this cult back in 2014, I never would have believed it.

I'll bite. Can you let me know which former prosecutors have come out and said "Being indicted and being found guilty are the same thing"?

They may have slept through that part of their law school classes.

You missed my point. The article is playing up a theoretical , "both former prosecutors agree that it is theoretically possible.".
There are a lot of things that are "theoretically possible".

I read the article. Where in it did it give you the idea that 3 former prosecutors don't know that an indictment isn't a conviction?

Trump is playing golf while 320 million Americans are living under a national emergency? Must be nice. He sure doesn't take his responsibilities as President seriously.

Truth be told, the Dems will grasp at anything to overturn the results of the 2016 election. They thought that they had something with Russian collusion. Fishking. Do you seriously think the Democrats (presumably the ones in office) think that they can overturn the 2016 election results, and install Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as POTUS and VP, 2 years and 2 months later?

Seriously?

What national emergency?
There is no national emergency except for the national emergency his resisters imagine in their dimwitted brains.

Have a nice day, Tres... :)

All this divisiveness put in place by political elites won't age well for them.

That's the most pathetic part of this. The "resistance" started out with "Trump is conspiring with Russia. He's beholden to Putin". That kind of stuff would, if true, certainly be worrisome. That's what Mueller was put in place to investigate. It's what Comey and Brennan and Clapper all believed had happened. One would think that, after a thorough investigation of this unimaginably horrible circumstance, there would be a bit of a sigh of relief from the accusers that it didn't go down the way they feared. They should be happy that America really wasn't in the hands of a Russian dictator or his proxy.

But the "resistance" will never feel that way.

They'll never feel that way because they never believed it in the first place. It was all a political hit job and now it's starting to fall apart. They'll never take responsibility for what they did and they'll continue their assault on the Constitution and the American people they disagree with politically until they either get their way or force something far worse than what we've seen so far.

I read the article. Where in it did it give you the idea that 3 former prosecutors don't know that an indictment isn't a conviction?

I read the article. What is so news worthy that it may be "theoretically possible" to bring charges against a sitting President?

I am not saying Trump hasn't broken any laws. Not saying he hasn't. imo, the article is just a hit piece that many like to read.

You haven't said what lies MSNBC was peddling this morning. You seem to know what they said. I can't ask Luther about what you posted.

No, but there are plenty of DP posters who have screamed Trump colluded...
I was with the president when he said there was NO COLLUSION.
And he was right all along, and his moronic haters are just gonna' have to live with the fact that the president they resist was right all along...

For the second time, read Lutherf's post again and see what he said about MSNBC.
I watched them once at my dear liberal son's house awhile back and once was enough.
They're a bunch of hair brains running around screaming about imaginary Trump crimes.

Seriously?

No, there's no path to putting Hillary in, so obviously that's not what's meant when we talk about Democrats wanting to overturn the election results. It's about taking Trump out of office, that's the part that has been pushed to be overturned.

If someone told me about this cult back in 2014, I never would have believed it.

If someone told me about the resistance to anything Trump back in 2016, I never would have believed it.

I have always said that if the president is found to be dirty or guilty of an "actual crime," throw the book at him.
I know it's hard for his resisters, many still spinning and miserable after learning there will be no further indictments, to believe, but it's here in the archives.

So after you listened to the video, do you think Ari's written description ...
"One prosecutor references a potential campaign finance case against President Trump as not serious enough, in his view, to charge but agreed with the other that a bribe or a more serious crime, could be."
accurately summarized what you heard and saw?
One other thing, after the video there was a very brief video by Ari that he said encapsulated how we got here...that was also an inaccurate summary.
