Line crossed: Three SDNY chiefs say Trump can be indicted

Shouldn't the rule of law matter?

If Barr sees enough evidence there are credible crimes committed by Trump and/or his administration...should he not follow the law?

The question should be...should Barr authorize an investigation of a man in search of a crime? Haven't we had enough of those kinds of investigations already?

If I were Trump, I wouldn't be dancing in the end zone just yet,

And to those who say dems "hopes have been dashed", I say this: Repubs love to say what dems want, and what they say you can bet it's framed in a way that serves their agenda.

However, truth be told ( although repubs are not into the truth) but truth be told:

Dems are focused on Trump's crimes, and 'collusion' etc, is only part of it. In fact, I've listened to many
in the media state this.

There are many investigations into Trump's business dealings, tax fraud, bank fraud, money laundering etc.

On those, the verdict is far from being in.

So, one down, 16 to go.

Hey, the investigations aren't over yet. It's right around the corner. Be patient.

The question should be...should Barr authorize an investigation of a man in search of a crime? Haven't we had enough of those kinds of investigations already?

The investigations are already occurring. Since you seem to trust Mueller's opinion regarding the Collusion/obstruction issues.....do you not trust his opinion that there are other matters that should be investigated as well?

Well, we did used to use presidents as role models. Not sure any parent wants their kid to grow up like trump.

At this point I'm waiting to see how trump blames the coming recession on democrats.

Oh nonsense. I'm the mother of 3 sons. It would be so wonderful if they grew up to be serial liars and adulterers who act like grade schoolers.

Barr can easily end those investigations.

I haven't said I "trusted Mueller's opinion" regarding the obstruction issue, but now that you raise that issue I'll give you my opinion: Mueller's avoidance of coming to a conclusion about obstruction was intended to do give Congress the ability to turn the obstruction issue into a political issue.

Actually, sit back and laugh.
:2rofll:
It's much better for one's health.
Trump's golfing while his haters are wishing bad things happen.
Can you imagine this? People hoping the POTUS committed high crimes and misdemeanors?

I am doing the happy dance because this was all collusion delusion.
Let his resisters spin themselves into the ground wishing, cheering and hoping for a constitutional crisis all the way up until 2020.
It guarantees the president a second term, and possibly winning back both the house and the senate.
All this divisiveness put in place by political elites won't age well for them.

Well, his troll army is still able to operate unimpeded. Nothing has been done by him to address the interference. Because acknowledging it would tarnish his victory.

Gonna be interesting to see how the end of the tax cut sugar high is all the democrats fault.

I have two grandsons myself. They're great-but tiring!

I have four kids and sixteen grandchildren, a great grandchild on the way by end of summer. They are all overwhelming, but a heck of a lot of fun. They run from 5-19, and obviously, the 19 year old is expecting. I still can't believe she married last year, she's still the baby I held in my arms. In the meantime she's at nursing school, Columbia, and intending to become an RN, joining 2 of her aunts and many of her cousins and 2nd cousins who have done the same. Her poor husband, who never had a chance, or choice in the decision, is a rookie on the NYPD, hitting night school for his bachelor's (pun intended), hoping for law school so he can become a prosecutor in a DA's office. Both hard working with goals, we'll see. :)

My older son lost his wife to illness, mother of his two sons, hooked up with a widow having 2 daughters of similar ages to his sons. A year later they had the twins. A surprise! Then, having lost my wife to illness, I married his wife's mother. We hated each other on first sight, but s**t happens and we're happy with each other. So it goes. There is no hope. :) Two wives in my life and both liked keeping their cold feet in my back during the night. Exhausting. :) Now time for a shower and off for a blood test and some chores.

You are blessed with your family, and evidently did a grand job of bringing them up. My daughter lost her husband, a childhood sweetheart, at the age of 31 because of a tragic misdiagnosis; widowed at 30 with two little boys who will never grow to know their dad. I guess life wasn't meant to be fair...

Apologies for getting way off topic.

No apologies necessary. Thread drift. Sorry to hear of your daughter's sorrows. Time for a quality stepdad. Life is never fair.

I am fortunate with my brood and hold my first wife responsible. She was a fine woman, wife and mother, I still miss her. So it goes as some of us live longer. Enjoy your grandkids, they are a blessing.

Midterm elections often trump the majority party.
Dems won by 8 pts, that's a historical high.
The economy if it continues will win Trump re-election,
The economic indicators predict a downturn.
along with a new non-nuclear proliferation treaty with Russia before this term is out.
'

Dream on, every boast by Trump thus far has been a fraud. If Trump has accomplished anything, it is to embolden KJU to keep his nukes, and make many more. Trump has been played because on international diplomacy, he is a clown and an amateur. No one knows this more than Putin. Trump is Putin's "useful idiot".
Damn, the Dems didn't see the latter coming. :) Strategic planning. Trump and Putin look like heroes. :violin::slapme:

Slap yourself, you deserve it.

The SDNY is part of the DOJ, which begs to disagree...enjoy your Wet Dreams , meanwhile....

You are implying that Barr will intervene with SDNY investigations and prosecutions?

Now you are the wet dreamer.

It's kind of incredible how people are having trouble acknowledging that Trump WILL finish his first term in office. No, there will be no indictment. No, he won't be impeached, much less removed from office. No, he won't be arrested.

I've anticipated this from the beginning. I never drank the whishful thinking-laced Kool Aid that Mueller would rescue America and undo the result of the 2016 election. Never. Not once. I don't like Trump but I don't engage in unrealistic wishful thinking. Elections have consequences. Trump won. He is the POTUS. He will finish his term. Get used to it. The sooner, the better.

Original Poster, isn't it telling that only FORMER prosecutors are saying what you are linking to?

No, there will be no CURRENT prosecutor from the SDNY or any other federal court that will indict Trump, unless that person really, really, doesn't mind at all the idea of becoming unemployed.

It's over, my friend. By the way, it was never started to start with... It was never going to happen (indictment, impeachment, removal).

Short of Trump croaking from a stroke or heart attack given his obesity and his steady diet of Big Macs, he WILL finish his first term.

Rather than this futile pursuit, we, his opponents, need to focus on voting him out of office in 2020, because that's the ONLY legal way to kick him out of the White House.

And the way this is going, I'm not even sure if this will be accomplished, because the more people continue to be in denial that he won't be indicted, the more it validates his witch hunt narrative, which is one of his strongest electoral points, to motivate his base.

So, stop helping him in getting re-elected. Don't do like the Russians.

I thought it was possible that Trump could commit political suicide, until it became clear the GOP is as corrupt as he is, and will not only look past his power abuses, but also be accomplices in them, as they did in his fake national emergency power grab.

We're going to have beat him in an electoral fight, it's just that simple. That doesn't mean the Congress and other investigators shouldn't continue to fight to uncover the truth and act as a check, but we've got to be more focused on winning an actual election, and prioritize that in the grand scheme of things.

Absolutely. But I didn't even expect that he'd commit political suicide. First of all, for his base, that's impossible. Short of him forcing married and conservative Christian white women to have abortions which he'd publicly perform himself then barbecue and eat the fetus, his political base will never turn against him. Oh wait, I think they'd spin even that. They'd say, oh, these women conceived from rape by illegal Mexicans, that's why Trump had to kill and eat the fetuses.

No, in their minds Saint Trump can do no wrong. Some even said God wanted him to be president. LOL. Trump is probably one of the godless persons around.

Yes, sure, the Democrat House must provide checks and balances.

But talk of indictment and impeachment is just ridiculous and distracting, at this point. There is only one thing that will be favored by that: Trump's re-election campaign.

Democrats need to stop shooting themselves in the foot.

Campaign on the issues. For example, Trump wants to kill Obamacare with no replacement, which will take health insurance from 28 million Americans. Making sure that they understand what happened and who is responsible, means 24 million votes for Trump's opponent. That's how we can boot him out; not by trying to indict him.

So what? The voter turnout was abysmal.

The economic indicators predict a downturn.

After an extended up cycle, analysts always say economic indicators predict a downturn. That's why they earn big money. :lamo If I believed a word analysts have to say, I'd be broke instead of wealthy. Apple is doomed. :rofl

Forest Gump - "Stupid is as stupid does." Not a single boast yet from Trump about a new nuclear proliferation treaty with the Russians. But now, don't dare tell me you didn't see it coming. The set up couldn't be more obvious. And less we forget, two years before Trump announced his candidacy, Putin call for a new treaty citing changes for nuclear ballistic technology thanks to computer advancement, aka digital technology. Yeah, Nato should not pick up the bill for guarding Europe from the big bad bear. You crack me up Oscar. Merkel's day is over, Brexit is here. The crumble begins. The French, Germans, Belgians, Scandinavians, are turning right. Italy is in chaos, but Luxembourg is fat and sassy. Get a clue. Collusion. :rofl :spin:

Slap yourself, you deserve it.

Slap yourself twice, you deserve it, and wake up!

We kicked your butt in the house in 2018. Expect that and beyond, in 2020

Winning low voter turnouts kicks no one's butt, often an embarrassment for not invigorating more voters.

Time to stop honoring yourself with assumptions that do make an ass out of you. I am not a Republican. :lamo

You can jump up and down and celebrate when Trump is indicted in 2025.:lamo

That's kind of the point. His only chance of staying out of jail it to remain in the Oval Office. He is already an unindicted co-conspirator in the same crimes that Michael Cohen is in jail for.

And that's the SMALL stuff

Winning low voter turnouts kicks no one's butt,

Record high exceeding those in the 60s, when the Viet Nam war galvanized many to vote.

Sorry, you are misinformed
