Well, to be fair to Ms. Bishop the reports I have read indicate that the elderly man told her "to be nicer to people". It's possible that she viewed such words as insulting and/or racist. Perhaps she felt a need to defend herself from the imminent threat of life long trauma due to being spoken to by an old guy.

Maybe she was defending her son from old person trauma.

Then again, maybe she's just a psychotic **** that deserves every bad thing that's about to happen to her.
 
And just a general note: out of all suggested assumptions here, mental illness is probably the best assumption you can make. We really don't pay nearly enough attention to this in America, and as a result our prisons are basically doing the old institutions' job.

Something like >50% of MA state inmates are suffering from mental illness, generally multiple illnesses. Statistically speaking, it's a safe bet.

It's also a real possibility when a person behaves in a way that's way out of proportion to whatever they are responding to. That said, vile criminals tend not to give much of a **** about human life, so this is an iffier basis for assuming mental illness than sheer statistic force.




Either she's one of those genuinely evil people who will now end up in prison for the rest of her life, or a seriously mentally ill person who will end up in prison for the rest of her life. If there's no father or grandparents in a position to care for the kid, the kid's orphaned. Some other people lost a grandfather, a father, etc.

Basically, as to the people making hilarious jokes about gun control, racism, and using it for political ends: [Censored] you [censored] [censored].

The racial identities of the victim and suspect pose the possibility that needs to be collaborated with other evidence.

We are well informed that there is tension between the races - there are plenty of racially charged campaigns in progress that are partially commissioned to justify anger towards the "white establishment." Anger motivates people do do things to cause change.

Why else, would this woman act so insensitive towards the frail old man???

One person did something awful to one other person. I'm not sure there's much more analysis required.

Luckily there are laws against this kind of behavior.

Yep.

Many of the Trump base are attempting to use this to justify Trump's blatant racism, and the racist dog whistles he uses to energize his base. It really demonstrates how well Trump represents the values and principles of much of his base.
 
This is a sad situation indeed. The risk one takes using public transportation in this country is that you never know the mental stability or intentions of the individuals you’re riding with. Just about every time I ride the red line here, I have the misfortune of being in the same car that’s being used as a toilet by a homeless person. Or being in the car with the crazy person firing off random outbursts. Public transit is an essential asset to a community, but you just never know.
 
This story will and should get ZERO MSM coverage. I'm fine with that no need to stoke the flames imo

when MAGA supporters got accused of trying to hang a black man in Chicago....also should have received ZERO MSM coverage

You'd rather be treated like an individual, someone not responsible or even connected to evil people just because you share a skin color, religion, or political lean with them. Yeah?
