IS Warren done?

She admitted her mistake and has apologized. It happened 34 years ago too. You need to move on. No one cares.

Sorry.

It's not that I don't agree with you. Her racial identification shenanigans don't strike me as nearly egregious enough to disqualify her for office, especially in light of the other candidates' baggage.

But what country have you been living in for the past decade where "She admitted her mistake and has apologized." and "It happened 34 years ago." means a rat's prat to anyone middle-left and beyond (a.k.a. 90% of Sen. Warren's potential base)?

If she wore a Native American headdress as a Halloween costume at age 3 in 1952 and the press gets a photo of it, that alone will be enough to end her.

"No one cares."

Ah. I needed that belly laugh.

That's the way I read the trends. When the DM Register poll came out and Warren was in 4th, a lot of air went out of the tires. Not only do pollsters swear by Selzer's work, the voters in Iowa pay attention to it.

That said, I don't think there is any way Sanders gets close to Biden in South Carolina. That at least gives biden talking points going into Super Tuesday.

The next two have Biden in the lead, but Bernie is running neck & neck with him in Nevada:

NEVADA

Joe Biden +100
Bernie Sanders +119
Elizabeth Warren +815
Pete Buttigieg +1108

SOUTH CAROLINA

Joe Biden -550 You would have to bet 550 to win 100 if you bet Biden winning
Bernie Sanders +400
Elizabeth Warren +965
Pete Buttigieg +3000

SC Biden all the way

A lot depends on the casualty from the first two states. It is almost certain that at least one of the top four runs out of gas before March. Biden will get a recharge in the middle of the month, from his certain win in South Carolina, but it's almost uncontested and the coverage will say so. I have to wonder how much impact SC and NV will have as every focuses on the mass of delegates available on Super Tuesday.

I vote Super Tuesday and I have not made up my mind yet.

She is now clearly fourth in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Most nominees have outright won one or the other and none has ever been 3rd or lower in both. As a practical matter, the first and second place finishers receive a massive amount of free publicity. Looking deeper, there is also the erosion of Warren's once strong position in California. Iowa is four weeks from tomorrow. California is in eight weeks. On the surface at least, people no longer consider her a serious candidate.

Maybe. I was flipping around this am and landed on MSNBC where they were talking about the co-endorsement of Warren and Amy K. Whichever bullet-point diva was being interviewed said that there were real and growing concerns about Warren and her rhetoric. within the DNC.

Warren's numerous blatant mis-truths have slowly caught up to her. That along with her outrageous give away plans that she can't explain how to pay for.

and the fact that the big money behind the Democrats loathe her wealth tax schemes and other nonsense.

I don't disagree with any of this, though I would call Warren's mis-truths as self serving fibs. That said, she still has a large organization and it could her in the picture through Super Tuesday. Then, who knows. I vote that day and I don't know who I'll pick.

Biden and Warren both continually stick their foot in their mouth. Biden is a gaff a minute and Warren has told so many fairy tales about her history and her family that folks have lost some interest.

So many fairy tales? Most of us have only heard about one.

Booker was my last best hope so I doubt I vote in the primary now that he is gone. I am not really sure what Bloomberg's platform will be so he is the only question mark. I don't hate Warren. I just have no idea what she would really stand for since she keeps changing her ideas around and she is just plain boring to listen to. Joe and Bernie are both too old and too senile. Mayor Pete has just gone a pandering a few too many times. Pretty slim pickings. I will probably vote for the Greens anyway in the general election so it isn't like it really matters.

Joe and Bernie are both too old and too senile.

Calling Joe, and especially Bernie, senile is idiotic. He's the best leader we've had in decades.

I'm a registered Republican so I can't vote in the Democrat primary. If I could I'd support Bernie.
There is something of a Pit Bull about Sanders that I like & most of all he does not pander like the rest of them.

You're right, and it's a reason Bernie appeals to more moderates and Republicans than most Democrats (I can't think of any that match him outside the furthest right-wing like Joe Manchin).

It's unfortunate that Republicans are totally owned by corrupt interests - lap dogs to the welathy and powerful, the opposite of 'pit bulls' however much they try to look like they're not.

I am leaning that way myself. It's down to him and Mayor Pete. Texas allows us to choose either party, so it depends on the down ballot races which one I choose.

More bad news on the polling front for Warren. She now 4th in both IA and NH and a clear 4th in Iowa, which is next week (!).
