IMO, impeachment is warranted. It will also enable Congress to get their hands on all the evidence they need to build a case. Also, we know the R would be impeaching a D president right now, for less than a quarter of what Trump has done.

So, one has to ask. Would impeachment be a popular position to take? Are the American people going to turn on the impeachers or will they side with them and clamor for Trump's removal?

The Dem House is in a difficult position. Mueller has laid out ten points for the House to further investigate on obstruction charges. For the House to not investigate makes them negligent of oversight. I say play it out in front of Committee, drag it out until next year, let the American electorate decide Nov 2020.

A nice, loud, and very public investigation of the obstruction of justice charges should play well during the last few weeks of the campaign, about as well as Hillary's emails played during the last one. The Democrats will really have to shoot themselves in the foot by nominating someone totally unelectable if they're going to lose the next election to Trump and his minions.

I do hope your correct. The history of the Dems choosing a winning canidate is spotty. If the Dems are even remotely interested in winning an African American will be needed to get out the vote, it is key to an overwhelming victory.

And if the Righties want to accuse the Dems of pandering to the African American so be it. Pence was chosen to appeal to the Evangelical base, pandering happens in all elections.

IMO, removing Trump from office via the ballot box supersede's a difficult Impeachment process.

There is plenty in the Mueller Report that Democrats can wield against Trump in the 2020 election.
