I am interested on why you think she would still be sitting in it? If it wasn't leaked the process of confirming Kavanaugh would be almost If not totally completed by now. This leaked letter and the rumors around it are what has delayed the confirmation.

The FBI has never investigated rumors of a dispute between drunken teens which may or may not have occurred 35 years ago according to reports just now surfacing. The FBI does not give out parking tickets, does not chase down jaywalkers, and does not involve itself with local police matters clearly outside their own jurisdiction. If democrats fought like the devil to keep the FBI from investigating the Vince Foster murder then they can d+++ well accept that the FBI will not be called to involve itself in this nothingburger of a supposed municipal crime.

First, the accusation was not rape. Second, charges of inappropriate sexual behavior is not a Federal matter. The supposed event occurred 36 years ago while both were legal minors and the accuser cannot recall key facts; i.e., when the event occurred, where it took place, how she got there, why she was there, etc. Additionally, the number of people involved has changed multiple times. There are no collaborating witnesses that the incident occurred - but of those named, all have stated no such event took place. What facts are there to be investigated? The FBI has conducted multiple investigations on Kavanagh, including an investigation when he was nominated to the SCOTUS - found nothing. An unsubstantiated claim out of the FBI's jurisdiction is no reason to open another FBI investigation. You say "we" (who is "we") need a fair investigation - of what? I would say "she" needs to file the appropriate charge(s) and let the appropriate authorities do their job.
