The question is, why did he lie?
You getting the porn solicitation e-mail doesn't make you a bad guy.
Telling Congress under oath that no one from the porn site has ever made contact with you does.

I delete HUNDREDS of junk emails a day. Sometimes wait and delete a thousand. Do you think I can answer a question like that? Well, I can. And neither can you.

He only lied if this is a legitimate piece of evidence. If it's unvetted, used as evidence, then turns out to be bogus, Mueller's team could be looking at a manufacturing evidence charge. Using false, or manufactured evidence is a felony.

Maggie - it's an active investigation. The media is reporting all of this secondhand in an (uncoordinated) effort to figure out what Mueller and team already know. This particular email could be a dead-end, or it could be the linchpin of Mueller's case against Kushner, Trump Jr, etc. We don't know and won't know until Mueller files more charges or concludes his investigation.

You're not seeing the big picture. The likely outcome of this thread of the investigation is that Kushner, Trump Jr. and other senior Trump staffers were trying to obtain stolen DNC and Podesta's emails from Russia via Wikileaks, due to their belief that the emails could be used to damage Hillary's campaign.

Unfortunately for the AT's, the prosecution can't prove what Donald Jr. can, or can't remember.
