Since 2010, 73 schoolkids, out of 50 million each year attending 130,000 schools open 180 days per year, were killed by someone with a gun at school during school hours.

It's really not much of a threat compared to the 18,000 killed in motor vehicle accidents over that same period. Almost 900 died in house fires. 149 died from bad medical care, not counting reactions to medicine. Almost 3000 school age kids died while walking and getting hit by a car. Over 500 died on a bike while hit by a car and 142 died crashing on a bike.

If you think that putting arms guards and electronic screening in front of every access point to a school is the right idea, work with your Congresscritters to fund it. The lack of homicides on airliners isn't due to the form one fills out to get a boarding pass; it's the screening and armed guards. And it only works to protect the planes. The people in their crowds are a huge unprotected target.

First you see nothing wrong with denying law abiding citizens the ability to exercise their rights.

Is a seat belt necessary to get thru the day? A fire extinguisher? Life preservers on a boat?

What fails is your continual attempts to make a point, which then end up not applying to the issue.

In this case, you tried to make it seem like possessing something you dont use every day isnt a necessity. And I demonstrated that was wrong with other examples.
