EC is an old argument. It's not that people think it's bad, it just doesn't suit their needs. I'm sure down the road the sides will switch and the left will be the ones trying to protect it and the right trying to do away with. Which is exactly why it was in our founding to begin with.

The other stuff is state related. You can always move to one that shares your view.
