Flynn apologizes after admitting he may have discussed sanctions with Russia

I agree he lied, and I think he should be removed for bold faced lying to the public and the superiors above him. The point was though over promises made to russia thing were not backed by the nsa, who eavesdropped his entire conversation. They could find nothing illegal in his conduct but they could find he was a bold faced liar.

A republican on here mentioned Leavenworth to me a few days ago concerning Flynn.

trump isn't in lie/deny mode because he/Bannon/Miller know Flynn's been caught on tape.

Flynn vulnerable to Russian blackmail? Just like his boss !

Let's just agree to not judge the contents of the conversations until they're investigated or released. There's apparently more than one, and some reports indicate that they include encrypted communication.

If Flynn was acting on Trump's behalf, why does he lie to Pence? If he wasn't acting on Trump's behalf, then why hasn't he been fired??? This smells bad...

Not to mention the Reagan/Bush-41 interference during the 1980 election. LBJ made a huge mistake letting Nixon off the hook and the GOP has taken advantage of it ever since.

Bernie just trashed trump as a blatant irrational liar on MSNBC. This ****in Miller creep should send shivers down the spines of all GOP lawmakers, state and federal level. Keep hope alive for 2018 .

Why he has not been fired is a tough one to call, there could be many reasons. Why he lied? that is probably more simple, whether he was honest in his talks with russia or doing some dirty dealings, everyone tried to paint trump as putins puppet, those accusations starting as soon as trump ran in the primaries.

If he had admitted to talking with russians even in perfect legality of the law his position allows, he would have gave fire to the anti trump crowd. How it ended up however is he may have saved trump from more accusations, but now he is seen as a bold faced liar that no govt office would trust.

Also on the other reports, all info available now says they could not find anything illegal, that does not mean they never will, just right now they have nothing against him accept him being a liar. If more comes out showing he broke laws in his international dealings, then he should be tried in court, but for now with existing evindence he should be removed from his position..

I get lying to the American public to avoid a scandal. And I get lying to an administration official so that they can go on TV and confidently proclaim Flynn's lie. You could have had Kelly Anne do it. She's willing to say literally anything.

But the VP? That makes zero sense. The VP has clearance for all of these intercepts. He has the ability to find out that Flynn was lying with a phone call. Why would Trump let Flynn lie to the VP? And if Trump didn't know about it why does Flynn still have a job let alone not sitting in handcuffs in an interrogation room? This just makes Pence look impotent.

I actually started googling michael flynn, and it turns out the trump admin is already seeking a replacement for flynn. I would assume at this point he still has a job because no one is there to replace him, but seeing as they are exploring replacements, his job may not last.

I was just wondering that's all....I mean, you seemed pretty confident that Flynn was lying to avoid jail, yet the pertenant law that he would be accused of violating has been in place since the inception of our country because as the Times reported that it would be very unusual for the law to be prosecuted because it is “murky” during presidential transition periods.

So, the question begs that whether this is truly a serious violation of law, and precedent, or just another in the unbreaking line of sore losers of the last election trying everything possible to tarnish, and undermine this administration, and even to possibly Obama, and OFA getting in the mix, these are truly uncharted times....

I am not saying what Flynn did is right, or wrong, I truly don't know, and won't know unless an investigation is done, and I think that there are more important things pressing at the moment....So, I guess we won't know for sure.

Oh, but NIMBY, I am not deflecting from anything....I don't know what the conversations were, do you? If the administration feels that Flynn's resignation is what they desire, then they will have it...He serves at the pleasure of the President....
