Considering the generally horrific and disgusting treatment that slaves in the US had to put up with on a constant basis by their own masters, I'm gonna file that under "extremely unlikely".

There is, however, a documented history of masters raping their slaves, in many instances to have children so they didn't have to buy slaves from anywhere else, since the Trans-Atlantic slave trade got cut off. And also, for their own sick enjoyment.

I give her a 99% chance of being correct. Slaves didn't have any choice about "consent" in anything, not even for bed times. They were considered property, their opinions or livelihood did not matter to their masters. It's a wholly unbalanced power dynamic, and I think it's a serious stretch to call any relationship between a slave owner and a slave "consenting". I'm just saying. :shrug:

Absolutely things like that happened and famalies kept it hidden. If that happened its very possible the baby was given to a trusted slave to raise as their own.
