Why Do You Suppose So Many Fell For Trumps "Art Of THe Deal" While Prez?

ROFL! I control the American electorate? Cool! And if I tell the truth and state facts, the Dems will not win in 2020. Someone let Nancy know I want $5m in small unmarked bills pronto, or I post again! :D

That makes sense, according to Trump his base is largely composed of cowardly racists, and facts would likely only frighten them more.

Don't get excited. You aren't getting any money. Nancy doesn't care about you. It's HER money...not yours.

My use of "you" was inclusive. It's not about you specifically. It's about all you TDS-inflicted Trump haters. And that includes Nancy and her ilk.

Wow! A 25 year old video! Thanks! So what does that have to do with the price of wheat in Kansas?

Finish the story?

Yep, it was 25 years ago the the Congress poo pooed the greatest immigration study ever conducted(WINK)

You know the one where it recommended half of what we have today?

Just that one

Every deal requires at least two parties. If one party simply won't negotiate, no matter how good the other party is at making a deal, it won't happen.

This is what we've seen happen time and again when it comes to Trump trying to make a deal with Congress.

For example, when Trump was trying to get Congress to appropriate money for his wall this was Nancy's answer: "No money for a wall." Kind of hard to make a deal in this case. Trump's only choice was to use other legal means to obtain the money.

So it goes...

Never mind that Mitch McConnell started the Obama Administration by publicly announcing no deal on anything.

And Trump went in knowing that there would be no deal on his stupid and unAmerican wall.

In politics, when you don’t get what you want on one front, you try and make deals to move other parts of your agenda.

But Trump doesn’t understand how government works, how politics work, or respect the rule of law.

He think of Congress as a commission that is there to rubber stamp whatever he wants.

He has never served on a committee, or a Board of Dircectors. And he has no experience in dealing with group dynamics, and is openly afraid of it (something that other world leaders have taken notice of).

He also obviously has no idea how to make a deal.

Agreed. Another reason why the influence of the Christian Coalition has put us where we are. Remember the “Pledge” that was being pushed around to force Republican Congressmen to sign? That was a means to force signatories to not agree to work with or compromise with the Democrats.

Republican Pledge to American:
Extending the temporary tax cuts passed under President George W. Bush in 2001 and 2003 for all taxpayers, including those for those earning over $200,000 ($250,000 for married couples).
A tax deduction for small businesses on up to 20 percent of their business income.
A hold on all unspent funds authorized as part of 2009's stimulus bill or the 2008 TARP legislation.
Roll back government spending to 2008 levels, to save $100 billion while exempting "seniors, veterans, and our troops" from cuts; this would entail cutting 21 percent of the $477 billion budgeted for domestic discretionary spending.
A hiring freeze on all federal agencies except those necessary to national security.
A repeal of the 2010 health-care reform bill.
Reform of medical liability and health insurance practices.
A permanent ban on any federal funding for abortion.
A requirement that Congress post all bills online three days before a vote.
A requirement that lawmakers cite the specific constitutional authority that enables the legislation.
A ban on trials on U.S. soil for detainees currently held at Guantanamo Bay.

Was that the Christian Coalition or Grover Nordquist? Or both?

Grover specifically, but the trend since the 1980s is from the Christian Coalition. Note that the Pledge included the same things Goldwater spoke against in 1981.

No one is moving on immigration. It’s all lip-service. What does that have to do with my post?

That's a terrible analogy.

When Trump fails to make a deal with Xi Jinping, he can't move on to another leader of China. He's stuck with Xi Jinping to make a deal. In your analogy, you would have no choice: If you wanted the internet, you have to pay that company whatever they wanted, or not get the internet.

It's a great analogy. Prpbably the best anaolgy ever.

Let's make this an accurate analogy: Have you ever tried to negotiate a house price when there is one, and only one, possible buyer for that house?

No, you haven't. And neither have I.

That's not a prospect connected to reality. All the affairs of humans are in a state of flux.

i didn't read Art of the Deal. to be fair, though, neither did Tweety. i'm waiting for the ghost written sequel "How To Paint Yourself Orange And Still Dupe A Cult." i doubt that i'll read it, as i'm more into fiction, though.

Please don't babble. Thanks

You agreed with an analogy between what Trump does, and selling a house. I pointed out that it's a terrible analogy because there is only one leader of a country, or party, and you have to come to an arrangement with that person. You can't do down the line to the next "customer" as it were, there isn't one.

Now do you have anything to add other than babble?

It's very likely my analogy would be recorded for posterity. A deal will be reached with China. Probably not on your schedule, and very likely a settlement you'll decry, but a deal will be reached.

LMFAO. Thanks Captain Obvious.

You sound like one of the guys who wrote the bible. I predict....there will be wars! ...there will be earthquakes! ....there will be agreements between countries!

I thought about it.

But I haven’t cruised the local used bookstores recently.

No way will I even consider buying or downloading a new copy.

I will not give that man my money under any circumstances!

How many other similar declarations have you made about what Trump is doing that never amounted to anything????

As long as you continue to deliberately and dishonestly make **** up like the part I highlighted...the Dems will not win the 2020 Presidential election.

What do consider asking Ukraine to investigate Ukraine and pin the blame for election 2016 on none other than -- Ukraine, and give Russia a pass and clean bill of health for their 'wrongful' blame? Who would prefer that scenario, Trump, Russia or Ukraine?

Don't tell me you're making up a reason to be pissed at Trump. That's never, ever happened before.

I heard she donated it to kids with cancer. So now it's probably Trump's money.

Trump profited from kids cancer charity, report says

Trump Foundation Will Dissolve, Accused of ‘Shocking Pattern of Illegality’ - The New York Times

That's who you support, a billionaire so greedy he steals from charity. Who the **** supports someone like that?

I'll bet Trump thought that was a witch hunt too. Along with the Trump U "hoax".

Trump's MO throughout his life, when confronted with his own misdeeds, is deny, deny, deny.

Scene from "Guide for the Married Man"

About Trump? Who knows? I should've marked all that down, but nobody told me there'd be a test. None of that alters the quality of my historically best analogy, though.

Like I said...making **** up.

Enjoy your loss next year.

No point, sigh, in thinking about what could have been accomplished in the past three years had the sole focus not been on "getting" Trump one way or another. My concern is that should Trump be re-elected, will this counterproductive crap stop?

The House can't get anything through the Senate and the President can't get anything through the House. That's not counterproductive. It's politics as usual.

Trump is a laughing stock. He's regularly mocked by leaders around the world. He's considered an idiot by his top aides. There's a reason for all that nota bene, it didn't just happen in a vacuum because people didn't like Trump. Trump appointees say Trump's an idiot.

Idiots don't get serious deals done. So instead of blaming everyone else, blame yourself for electing an idiot.

You have no idea how I voted. And you also refuse to acknowledge any of Trump's accomplishments, which is really unfair.

Great video.

IF the Democrats had been sincere about wanting certain measures, they would have spent these past three years working with President Trump.

They would have been astonished at how much they could have accomplished if they had shown respect to him, instead of announcing on the first day of his presidency that they were going to depose him one way or another.

How sad for our country that the Dems have wasted three years that could have been used for constructive legislation on the many issues that are facing this nation.

Hopefully, thoughtful voters will show their disgust with the Dems one year from now.

The cult is really misguided. You don't understand how it works, at all, or who the Republicans are, much less who trump is. In the meantime, you can show me the quotes from Democratic leaders who said they will "depose" trump on day one - even though he deserved it since he violated the emoluments requirement of the constitution from day one.
