Why Do You Suppose So Many Fell For Trumps "Art Of THe Deal" While Prez?

No point, sigh, in thinking about what could have been accomplished in the past three years had the sole focus not been on "getting" Trump one way or another. My concern is that should Trump be re-elected, will this counterproductive crap stop?

Trump is a laughing stock. He's regularly mocked by leaders around the world. He's considered an idiot by his top aides. There's a reason for all that nota bene, it didn't just happen in a vacuum because people didn't like Trump. Trump appointees say Trump's an idiot.

Idiots don't get serious deals done. So instead of blaming everyone else, blame yourself for electing an idiot.

No, it will not stop. Trump will tell another foreign leader, "give me fake news or no military aid for you" and we'll be doing this again. What kind of ****ing idiocy is it to think anything will change.

Trump's approach is normal. It's practiced by sales departments everywhere. Years ago now, I decided to eliminate my cable service. They offered me several "deals" at reduced prices in an attempt to retain me as a customer. Unfortunately for them, I had already determined that I would eliminate cable service. There was no alternative deal to be had for them. There wasn't anthing wrong with their sales department at all. I simply wasn't interested in purchasing to product.

Trump's approach works maybe once. After that's all BS.

Every deal requires at least two parties. If one party simply won't negotiate, no matter how good the other party is at making a deal, it won't happen.

This is what we've seen happen time and again when it comes to Trump trying to make a deal with Congress.

For example, when Trump was trying to get Congress to appropriate money for his wall this was Nancy's answer: "No money for a wall." Kind of hard to make a deal in this case. Trump's only choice was to use other legal means to obtain the money.

So it goes...

Yet, in the budget proposal from the Dems there was money for the wall..

Odds are, Trump will be reelected because the Democrats have nothing better to offer.

The crap won’t stop. Accusations of “stealing the election” and other BS followed Bush for 8 years and then the attacks switched sides and Birtherism and accusation of Marxism followed Obama for 8 years.

Like with Bill Clinton, everyone who voted for Trump should have known he was a unrepentant lying, draft-dodging coward. That type of personality doesn’t change. Like Clinton, everyone knew the stories of Trump’s drug use and serial sexual harassment of women. That type of personality doesn’t change. In short, in both cases, people either didn’t care and voted for them anyway or they were idiots who voted because they fell for the BS spewing from the lips of each candidate.

Most people had no idea about the extent of Clinton's shortcomings. This was before the internet was popular, and cable news was in it's infancy. Unless you were a political junkie, you had no idea, and really no easy way to find out. Nowadays, all the information anyone needs is right at their fingertips, and everyone knows about Trump.

So I would say that most people who voted for Clinton did NOT know about the extent of his shortcomings, whereas Trump supporters knew the extent of Trump's shortcomings, and supported him anyways. That is a big difference, too big to let you equate the two bases.

You can be irrational. I don't mind.

You can never be "irrational" , when you have the "Art of the deal" in your corner(wink)

Numerous witnesses have testified under oath that Trump tried bribing a foreign government to interfere in American elections. That's a wee bit more than a baseless accusation. Trump's own COS Mulvaney admitted that this was what Trump was doing, and told America to "Get over it."

With Trump winning by less than 200,000 votes in four key states, there is NO guarantee in that

because the Democrats have nothing better to offer.

Are you sure?

That's a terrible analogy.

When Trump fails to make a deal with Xi Jinping, he can't move on to another leader of China. He's stuck with Xi Jinping to make a deal. In your analogy, you would have no choice: If you wanted the internet, you have to pay that company whatever they wanted, or not get the internet.

Have you ever negotiated the sale price of a house?

Let's make this an accurate analogy: Have you ever tried to negotiate a house price when there is one, and only one, possible buyer for that house?

No, you haven't. And neither have I.

I readily agree the Internet was a game changer but so was 24/7 cable news. Fox came on the scene in 1996, but that didn’t stop people from knowing about Clinton’s sexual harassment accusations, his serial adultery accusations or his lying about smoking pot.

Agreed about Trump’s crimes. Still, like 2016, it comes down to two main candidates. Unlike 2016, it’ll be an incumbent (the devil we know) versus a challenger full of promises. So far the Democrats don’t seem to have a Rock Star candidate.

Seems that way. It’s still early in the election season. Until the Democrats shed most of the clowns out of the clown car and have a clear candidate, it’s difficult to project a winner. Still, the betting odds favor Trump....which is why I have money on him. :)

I also have money on the Democrats keeping the House and the Republicans the Senate.

PredictIt

Don't be ridiculous, the last thing Trump wants is his wall to actually be built. If it was, people would come to realize what a truly idiotic idea it was to spend all those billions. You see, Trump knows about something you apparently don't: Ladders

The main reason is because Donald Trump sounds a whole lot like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. The two real leaders of the Republican party who are massive liars and spread hate.

The democrats with their policies are guaranteed before this about 1/2 of the electorate

Surely anyone is better than someone who is so greedy, that even though they have billions of dollars, they take money from children with cancer.

Which Democratic candidates has take money from children with cancer? That alone makes them better than Trump.

How Donald Trump Shifted Kids-Cancer Charity Money Into His Business

This is the guy mycroft, veritas1, apstd, humbolt, and all the rest support. Someone who takes money from children with cancer. It's got nothing to do with the Dem candidate, they're all far better than Trump.

And... if and when the border is actually secure they will only have to raise already too high "Legal" immigration

Yep

In '92 and '96 people kind of knew, but it was extremely periphery stuff. It was out there, but you weren't confronted with it 24/7 like you are now.

And honestly, Clinton's crimes are small potatoes compared to Trump's not renting to blacks, not paying people who did work for him, numerous bankruptcies, ties to Russian oligarchs, etc. etc..

I'm curious, and you might know: How many of Clinton's top aides and advisers ended up being indicted and were found or pleaded guilty? Trump's admin and aides have seen more people go to jail than a typical mafia family.

Thread title: Why Do You Suppose So Many Fell For Trumps "Art Of THe Deal" While Prez?

Why? Because Trump is a lying turd that lies about EVERYTHING including things nobody ever thought about lying about before.

Remember when he was running for the office and whined every month that Obama's job numbers were cooked, that the Administration was cooking the books.

The WH Press Corp (now basically unemployed because the WH does not have the GUTS to hold daily or even weekly or even MONTHY Press Briefings) called Spicer on it as Trump's numbers were really not uncharacteristic nor varied from Obama's to any great degree. Spicer responded that "they were cooked then but are correct now, ha..ha..haha..ha". Horse Dung as usual with Trump and his gang.

I am still not sure the American public realizes that Trump lies about EVERYTHING....Every single thing. They are simply not prepared for a President that lies about everything.
