Similarly, no one cares about the deficits or debt. When I start seeing people who say they care sending in ALL their money, selling their house and donating it to the feds, cashing in their IRA and 401(k) plan and sending those checks to IRS to lower the deficit, I refuse to believe anyone anywhere cares about the deficit or debt!!!

The concept of anything based on race is ridiculous and bigoted. One need only look around and see that some enjoy privilege others do not, and race doesnt factor into any of it. No one is oppressed because of their skin. No one is blessed because of their skin. If your parents stayed together and built a successful home for you, you were privileged...and good job, parents. If they advocated for beliefs, values, strong work ethics, you were blessed, and good job, parents. If they provided for you economic opportunities that enabled you to take on life starting on the next rung up the ladder, you were blessed, and GREAT job, parents. If you stayed in school, graduated, didnt get pregnant or knock a girl up, if you waited until after you were married to start a family, good job! You have taken an important step to providing your children privilege.

Race doesnt have **** all to do with any of that. 54% of black Americans are on a path to privilege...because of the hard work they are putting into life. GREAT JOB. They should be celebrated.

That is an incredibly naive POV. Statistics, many of them posted right here in this thread, hammer your opinion into the ground.

No, I'm pointing out that if you demand someone sell their home and give away all they have OR they don't care about an issue, then let's do that for every issue. The OP demands that unless white people sacrifice their homes, they don't care about white privilege or it doesn't exist or something stupid. Well, if you don't sell your house, then do you care about the deficit? NO!! And we know that because I decided that unless you do something I arbitrarily demand, THEREFORE, you don't REALLY care!

No, it's that black people have to account for racism or bias in those situations, because it exists and is a real dynamic.

And why do I care what that one guy says. One guy denying something existing isn't proof or evidence it doesn't exist. If you want to support a viewpoint, you can find someone somewhere who advances it, including for the proposition that the world is flat, we didn't go to the moon, or any other crackpot theory you can think of. It's why watching YouTube videos of random people is generally a waste of time.

Here's another example. My white, racist uncle didn't like working for black people. Orders he'd accept from a white supervisor he would not from a black supervisor and it got him fired from lots of jobs. Those black supervisors had to deal with obvious and stupid racist ****bags like my uncle and those who weren't as stupid but didn't want to work for blacks. That's a disadvantage for that supervisor, period. A white guy faces none of those issues, and so has an easier time getting his workers to do the jobs needed doing. If the black guy is evaluated by his staff, he will get bad marks from some just because he's black. Their worker satisfaction is less. Maybe some leave. All those count against him. So it's easier for a white supervisor than a black one, solely on account of race.

Again, individual racism, does not mean white privilege exists.....I mean my god.....

And again, all of these are what ifs....in which YOU BRING UP RACE FIRST.....

It's wonderful having white privilege. I got into college entirely because of white affirmative action -- the college was required to accept a certain percentage of white students. And our whiteness was factored in with our grades and test scores.

Then, after graduating, I got my first job because of white affirmative action. Other people with the same qualifications but different skin color were competing for the same job. But because of diversity requirements, I was hired because my whiteness would make the company more diverse.

White privilege has been amazing. I never had to worry about money, I never had to worry about anything. I have to admit I sometimes feel a little guilty because of how easy my life has always been. And it was ALL because of my whiteness.

I always make sure to wear plenty of sun screen because I am terrified of losing my whiteness! People are always respectful and kind when they see my white skin. Even when driving in rush hour traffic, I don't get cursed at, as long as the other drivers can see that I am white.

And it doesn't even matter that I am Jewish and therefore not exactly white. My skin isn't actually white, to tell the truth, but it's far enough from black that I have the constant luxury of whiteness.

The only time I ever have any trouble is on the phone, when the other person doesn't know me and can't see my whiteness. If they start acting racist, assuming wrongly that I am a person of non-whiteness, I always yell into the phone "I AM WHITE I AM WHITE YOU DUMMY. BE NICE TO ME I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE I AM WHITE."

And that usually works.

I can't really explain in a brief comment all the wonders of being white. It truthfully never ends, from morning to night, the glories of my white skin.

Being white in the corporate diversity world , I feel completely left out. We never get discussed except in a less than flattering way. Why they printed out a pamphlet describing the great witty inventions of blacks. Not one for white or Asians.

It's called an analogy, and it's obvious BS that you put a condition of caring that requires me to sell my house and reduce myself to poverty, OR, this problem doesn't exist and/or no one cares because they aren't reducing themselves to poverty. We don't require that for any other issue, so why do you think it works for white privilege?

Name any issue you care about. When you do, please tell us why it's OK for you to still have a house when if you REALLY care you could sell your house and donate it to this cause and alleviate some of this problem.

I hate to tell you this, but saying "NUH UH!!!" isn't an argument. I provided actual examples of how race makes it harder for black people in the work place, and why. You've not engaged those examples except to say that's "racism" but of course that's kind of the point. Racism/bigotry/prejudice exists, so it's a 'privilege' - i.e. an advantage, makes life easier - that I've lived 57 full years on this planet and never spent a second worrying about it. Racism and bigotry just don't impact me, ever, in my part of the world. That right there is the "privilege", the advantage, of being white in the U.S.
