White Privilege

I prove it every single day. I am white. From being stopped by police without fear of being shot to interviewing for six-figure jobs with people who all look exactly like me, I have privileges that blacks could only dream about. Of course, I guess, if I was trying out for the NBA, that might not apply.

Hey--"We're all equal now." Amirite?

True, ALL whites have six-figure jobs. And it's not because their skills are worth that much, it is merely because they are white. Bosses like to have white people around the office doing nothing, so they pay them well.

my whole premise is that you all are ALL TALK and no action

havent seen one of the so called activists for this make a dedicated stand....and really give up anything for their position

when i start seeing that, i will start to look at white privilege differently

Similarly, no one cares about the deficits or debt. When I start seeing people who say they care sending in ALL their money, selling their house and donating it to the feds, cashing in their IRA and 401(k) plan and sending those checks to IRS to lower the deficit, I refuse to believe anyone anywhere cares about the deficit or debt!!!

Race is not supposed to matter in our Republic. That is what the franchise is for.

I know that there was always a caste system in India and the lower castes had darker skin. But it was not because of their skin color -- the darker race had been conquered by the lighter race.

You should have done your ****ing homework before being a self-righteous ****.

Skin color is not the cause of black poverty. If it were, other ethnic groups with dark skin would have the same problem in this country as blacks. They do not. Do your homework and explain why.

The guy asks the lady, is there white privilege, her reponse was it's all around, when he asks her what it is, she is absolutely stunned, and asks him how he can't see it, and he says it doesn't exist and asks her again what it is, and she says the ability to be free of the social-economic struggles that white's don't have.....to hug their sons without being emasculated...

Think about that, this lady believes that white people don't struggle, and that white people emasculate black men who show affection towards their son....

I typed out a post, you ignored it entirely, to cite the video for the 20th time. I clicked on that video, it's two people talking, I wasn't impressed with either of them, but if there's evidence presented there, or a compelling argument, you can summarize it in your own words or not.

FWIW, I'm a white guy in a white area. I know that gives me an advantage. A simple example is the local golf club for the elites was all white for a century or more. They only broke the color barrier when we had a black basketball head coach and they had to offer him the same free membership they'd offered white head coaches for decades. Well, if you want to do business at high levels in this town, knowing and interacting socially with the elites is an advantage. If you are Jewish or black, and can't get admittance, that's a disadvantage. And even if you can get a membership today, those white families have been doing business for generations together, and that advantage will persist for a generation or more at least. Those kids grow up and go to school with the next generation of CEOs and sales managers, etc. It's a class thing and a race thing.

I was an auditor for a while, which meant spending weeks at employers' places of business. It's not a surprise that racism still exists, but as a white guy when I walk into a business, the notion of racism never occurs to me because I'm white. That's not true for black auditors sent alone to these places and having to deal with people up and down the ladder, some of whom will be racists. That matters because if I as a white guy ask challenging questions to a clerk, there's nothing but me asking the question. If I'm black, she might think - what right does this nigger have to question how I do my job!! If you think that doesn't happen, ask a black auditor, who might be the only black face in an office of 300 people. Race is in the background of every one of those interactions, something a black auditor better damn well consider.

If we whites were much blacker than the American blacks, and we had the enormous majority, it would be called black privilege.

Here is my point. It is not skin color, it is pure numbers. Also it is perception. Democrats say perception is true. I say nonsense.
 
Problem I have is, they are ASSUMING, race is the reason they weren't called back....that's an assumption based on the bias of the premise.....Unless they called each employer, and asked them, they don't know that...

Employers, well top employers, get thousand's of resumes for positions.....but we are to assume that one didnt' called back because of race? Maybe they filled the position on the 3rd resume?

He doesn't blow it away. In fact he says the first name allows people to read in perceptions of "culture" or "class." Do the typically Jewish first names imply a class? He doesn't even suggest that, but they imply a culture and he references but doesn't cite studies that show the same discrimination happens to typically Jewish first names. That's just another form of discrimination, that's not class based but anti-Semitic.

No, it's that black people have to account for racism or bias in those situations, because it exists and is a real dynamic.

And why do I care what that one guy says. One guy denying something existing isn't proof or evidence it doesn't exist. If you want to support a viewpoint, you can find someone somewhere who advances it, including for the proposition that the world is flat, we didn't go to the moon, or any other crackpot theory you can think of. It's why watching YouTube videos of random people is generally a waste of time.

Here's another example. My white, racist uncle didn't like working for black people. Orders he'd accept from a white supervisor he would not from a black supervisor and it got him fired from lots of jobs. Those black supervisors had to deal with obvious and stupid racist ****bags like my uncle and those who weren't as stupid but didn't want to work for blacks. That's a disadvantage for that supervisor, period. A white guy faces none of those issues, and so has an easier time getting his workers to do the jobs needed doing. If the black guy is evaluated by his staff, he will get bad marks from some just because he's black. Their worker satisfaction is less. Maybe some leave. All those count against him. So it's easier for a white supervisor than a black one, solely on account of race.

tomorrow i want you to quit your job, and have your boss offer it to a person of color whether they have the necessary skills or not. Your car....i want you to donate it to the nearest shelter... but is has to cater to black families. Any money in banks, markets, investments....same thing...they need to be cashed in and sent to charities for black causes.

Then i want you to give your house and personal belongings away....thats it....give it ALL AWAY..
..take all that guilt and give it to someone else. By the end of tomorrow, you should be homeless and broke....and you can assuage your guilt. And then you can find other liberals/progressives who suffer the same guilt ridden fate, and help them do the same. I am sure you have a bunch of friends you can help find their way also.....
