Which of you Conservatives/Republicans will take a CentGov handout?

No....

Funny how we had those early TP rallies and old Rush had to see "which way the wind was going to blow" first before he gave us any coverage

"Now, this piece in the New York Times illustrates the obstacles Tea Party lawmakers are up against. All these Republican freshmen in the House, for example, this article makes it plain how difficult their job is. There's even a section in this story on compromise, the bad kind of compromise, the kind of compromise that Republicans have been known for, get along with the Democrats, please the media, show that we're not the unreasonable Tea Party types. That's what's shaking down here. The Tea Party is under assault from the Democrats and the Republican elite, and now the battle has been brought full fore in the pages of the New York Times Magazine."

...and totally silent since Republicans regained the Presidency and have exploded the debt.

you'd think maybe 12 would show up at some Tea Party rally.

...and totally silent since Republicans regained the Presidency and have exploded the debt.

Yes, this is what happens when you're a MINORITY

Do you need someone to draw responses in crayon stick figure format for you to better understand them? Thats not an insult...just a question...so I can know how better to address you in the future.

so you will take the CentGov bailout money.

...while texting, Facebooking, Message Boarding, Social Mediaing about slackers who take handouts from the CentGov?

And if you do, why were you not prepared for emergencies like this (3 months to a year)?

We had a similar question in a thread last week or so. My answer now is the same as my answer then.

I don't need the money, but I'll take it and put it into savings. In that previous thread, I made a snarky remark about putting it in my sock drawer...but that's not really where I keep my savings. (I have a safe.)

You can think of this as my way of being "prepared for emergencies".

Your point?

Well of course!

Wouldn't you cash a check the was your money to start with?

I would....

does any of that money fund the military? VA? Medicare? etc...

i guess you're only taking back the CentGov $$$$ that you don't agree with. that's really smart.

Guess what, the 44% of Americans that don't pay get it as well(wink)

Imagine being "protected" and not even paying for it?

Defense is the second biggest chunk of the pie!!!!

I have been getting (and "cashing") Social Security retirement benefits every month since I became eligible to receive them. I have no objection, in principle, to taking an "entitlement" benefit which I was forced to support for over 40 years by paying FICA payroll taxes.

Why do you have no "principled" objection to congress paying COVID-19 "stimulus" benefits to federal employees (none of which lost a single dime in pay), yet feel that republicants (fiscal conservatives?) should not accept (or return?) them?

and there you have it. a republican "libertarian" posting on a political message board during a 3-12 month period of hard times.

this dude nailed what the new "libertarians" are all about.

The only way to tell if it's your money or not is to run a pro forma tax return for 2020.

If you calculate a refund of $1,200 or more, then yes it is your money.

If the pro forma refund is less than $1,200, or you project owing, then it isn't your money.

An astroturf liberal narrative that died before it even left the gate...

Another WuFlu victim?

:hm

i'm sorry that you're not in the position to not take a CentGov handout.

You provided your employer or the customers of your business a service for which you were paid. You then pay the govt for services provided to you. Call it what you want, this "handout" and all others are a service provided by the govt paid for by you and others. Period.

Sorry I get very little from the federal government for the money I send them.
which is why i choose to pay as little in tax to them as i can.

I get very little in return.
The US military and their defense is about all I get from the federal government.

and yet they still showed up constantly during the last administration.

it's a mystery as to why.

Seriously....I kind of need an answer to my question. Is there anyone there with you that can help you respond appropriately?

Or simply knowing what you pay on average all these years(sigh)

Especially when you were single and had no deductions!

see, that's another great way to sell the fact that you're taking a Federal Government handout. just complain about other people.

you should do so as you cash that handout check.

When you won't (or can't?) answer a question - sling partisan insults.

So did the occupy wall street movement

Where are they?

I think your post was the perfect description of what Republican libertarians are in 2020.
